the best kept secret of rodeo season 🤠🍷

watched one of my best friend’s Jo Smith aka the Situational Sommelier ( ) step into her first pop-up and she did NOT come to play.

The Midnight Ranch was an intimate evening of wine, good food, and the kind of conversation that only happens when the right women are in the room — hosted by the beautiful Keyanna McKenzie ( ) in collaboration with the House of Young ( )

If you’re looking for things to do in the city of Houston, and want to tap in with other events and dope people, then you should follow for more!

it was a REAL LIFE MOVIE SCENE. 🎬

as someone who lives to dance, Till You Drop ( ) was the perfect way to bring in Halloween.

dark room, sweaty energy, zero hesitation on the floor.

the kind of night where your body leads and your brain clocks out 🔥

and good news… Till You Drop is BACK tonight — January 3rd, 2026.

we’re celebrating Saynt Chris’ ( ) birthday the only way that makes sense: nonstop movement, heavy beats, and dance-crew-movie energy all night long.

hip hop, house, jersey, club edits, mashups — if it makes you move, it’s getting played.

trust me: if you love to dance, this is your room.

tickets are still available on the Posh app. Pull up ready to sweat. 🕺🏽💃🏽🪩

What happens when the story you’ve been missing your whole life finally finds you?

At 40, Houston chef Courtney Lindsay ( ) discovered his father—and what followed became Finding Ben, a documentary redefining narratives around Black fatherhood, grace, and second chances.

This isn’t a story about perfection.
It’s about presence.
It’s about choosing vulnerability.
It’s about love that arrives right on time.

You can read the full story by vp wright ( ) now on the front page of this week edition of the Forward Times, and on the Forward Times website, which you can find using the link in our bio. 🔗

A holiday tradition born from necessity has grown into one of Houston’s most powerful cultural love letters.

For seven seasons, Houston’s Urban Nutcracker ( ) has reimagined a classic, transforming it into a living reflection of the city’s multicultural heartbeat.

What began as one dance teacher’s solution to limited access has become a scholarship pipeline, a collaborative masterpiece, and a home for generations of young dancers.

This isn’t nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake.
It’s community in motion.
It’s legacy, discipline, and possibility on stage.

Our latest For The Culture feature dives inside the rehearsal rooms, the vision of founder Traci Greene ( ), and the impact this production continues to have on Houston’s youth.

Now live on the front page of this week’s Forward Times. 🗞️
