For a long time, I thought I needed to tell this story in perfect order.
I thought I had to make it easy to follow.
Neat.
Organized.
Linear.
But trauma doesn’t work like that.
Memory doesn’t work like that.
Healing definitely doesn’t work like that.
So I’m done trying to tell this story the way other people expect it to be told.
This is the unfiltered version.
The version that jumps between memories.
The version that remembers a dog before it remembers a date.
The version that cries while making breakfast.
The version that laughs in the middle of heartbreak.
This isn’t a documentary anymore.
This is my life.
The animals.
The clients.
The walks.
The memories.
The business I built.
The life I loved.
The pieces I’m still finding again.
For the past year and a half, I’ve been trying to understand what happened to me.
Now I’m trying to remember who I am.
This isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about finding my way back to the person I was before everything changed.
