SUBMISSIONS OPEN – COLLEGE FILMMAKERS – MISSTAKE FILM CLUB
Miss Takes Film Club: Honorable Mentions Showcase — a curated, non-competitive screening event dedicated to highlighting emerging college filmmakers.
Event Overview:
This showcase is all about celebrating authentic voices and bold storytellers. Selected films will be publicly screened and followed by a live Q&A session with the filmmaker(s). While the spotlight will be on the director or writer, cast and crew may also participate in the discussion, time permitting.
This is not a competition — there are no prizes or rankings. The focus is on exposure, community, and creative dialogue.
Eligibility:
Submissions are open to current college students — including Spring 2025 graduates — from the following schools:
• Houston Community College
• University of Houston
• Texas Southern University
• Lone Star College
• MediaTech Institute
• Rice University
• Lamar University (Beaumont)
• Louisiana State University
• Oklahoma City Community College
• Tulsa Community College
• Central New Mexico Community College
• Santa Fe Community College
• Scottsdale Community College
Submission Details:
• Accepted Formats: Short films, documentaries, commercials, and music videos
• Runtime: 1–15 minutes
• Submission Limit: Up to 2 entries per filmmaker
• Year of Production: All content must be produced in 2025
• Who Can Submit: Only the director or writer of the film
