First Pictures of Earth From Space Captured at 65 Miles Altitude! 🌎

The V-2 No. 13, also known as the White Sands rocket, was a modified V-2 rocket that successfully captured the first photograph of the Earth from outer space.

Launched on 24 October 1946, from the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, the rocket reached a maximum altitude of 65 miles.

The photograph was captured using an attached DeVry 35 mm black-and-white motion picture camera.
