Dear HCoM colleagues and friends,

We are deeply saddened to share news with you of the death of Ms. Lynn Page, who passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Her loss is irreplaceable.

From the first day she was introduced to us, Lynn brought such great talent to Houston Community Media, giving us our public face, designing our logo, our website, our invitations and reports. Despite her demanding work schedule, Lynn attended our briefings, joined our planning sessions and always let us know that she was there for us.
Always up for a challenge, she even took on designing the online directory for ACoM’s California media.

Just two weeks ago, she was already hard at work creating materials for our upcoming 2026 Expo.

We send our deep condolences to her family, friends and associates, and will share more information about her final arrangements as we get more information.

With love and respect,

Sandy, Nakia, Nguyen, Yesenia

Thank you to everyone who joined HCOM. Thank you to our speakers for giving great advice.

We explored how food, travel, and entertainment content can drive growth, engagement, and revenue, and the room was full of creativity and great ideas.

Excited to see what everyone creates next!

We celebrated a beautiful milestone the Texas grand opening of NAKASEC’s Korean Community Center of Houston!

This new space is more than a building. It’s a home for culture, connection, and community power. A place where Korean and Asian American families in Houston can gather, learn, organize, and thrive.

So proud to witness this moment and excited for everything this center will bring to our city. Congratulations for the milestone! 👏👏👏

At the SEARCH Annual Luncheon, we celebrated the incredible impact SEARCH Homeless Services is making across Houston. From street outreach and disability assistance to permanent housing and long term stabilization, SEARCH is helping individuals and families break free from the cycle of homelessness.

Their commitment to children is especially powerful. Through the House of Tiny Treasures, SEARCH provides high quality early childhood education to children who have experienced homelessness giving them safety, stability, and a chance to thrive.

The journey to end homelessness is long, but the stories shared of people finding housing, reconnecting with services, and rebuilding their lives show what’s possible when a community comes together. Houston is stronger when we fight for one another. Thank you Search for everything you do for the community.

This past week, Houston Community Media joined SEARCH Homeless Services on a tour of Houston’s East End to take an in-depth look at the work SEARCH does. We learned about what homelessness can look like, the housing complexes pivotal to their Housing First approach, and the early childhood development component through the House of Tiny Treasures that has been quintessential for breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Today, SEARCH Homeless Services is one of the region’s leading agencies in helping people move from the streets into jobs and safe, stable housing and break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

Thank you so much to the SEARCH team for your commitment to this important work and for allowing us to see what is just a fraction of what your work entails.

Houston Soccer Day proclamation at City Hall brought together an incredible mix of leaders, athletes, and community advocates to celebrate the growth and impact of soccer across our city.

The day kicked off in the Legacy Room with networking, conversations, and recognition of those who’ve helped shape the game from grassroots champions to professional voices. With great energy, food, and connection, it was a true reflection of Houston’s diverse soccer community. Huge thanks to Blanca Beltran-Robinson Blanca Beltran-Robinson for leading such a meaningful program.

The celebration continued in the City Council chamber, where Mayor John Whitmire, alongside city leadership, officially proclaimed April 7, 2026 as Houston Soccer Day.
From former pros to youth leaders and passionate community voices, the day was a reminder of how soccer unites us all and how bright the future of the game is in Houston.
