So I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the lady behind me honked at me and flipped me off because I was taking to long to order.

So I paid for her food too.

I moved up and she leaned out the window looking all crazy at me because the teller told her I paid for her food. She likely felt a bit embarrassed.

When I got to the second window to get my food, I showed them both receipts and took her food too!

I paid for it, it’s mine! Now she has to wait even longer. 😂

She gonna learn today!

I was born in 1973, so arcades played a big part of my youth. Some of my earliest memories are walking around town to local small grocery stores and arcades to play a game or two of my favorites, usually Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Gauntlet, then later Strider, Mat Mania and Bank Panic.

But my nostalgia when it comes to arcades mainly lies in the late 80s and early 90s, which I personally am glad I got to fully experience. There just seemed to be one quality game after another dropping, and when I could drive, it only expanded the reach of hunting around town for some game time.

You had Konami with their amazing licensed beat 'em ups like Ninja Turtles and Simpsons, while Capcom and Sega were pushing out equally amazing and innovative side scrollers, beat 'em ups, and shooters. You also had the fighting revolution kicking off with Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II competing for our quarters (I was a MK2 man, myself), and a slew of games based on Marvel Comic properties like Spider-Man, Punisher and X-Men, which was a big draw to me at the time.

Outside of those cabinets, you had a new revolution in pinball games, where wizards at Midway and other companies were creating beautiful tables with animated graphics that were either original, or licensed on some of the biggest properties at the time, such as Jurassic Park or Addams Family.

It truly was a great time to grow up in. What made it even better is that 16-Bit started hitting around the same time, and I could dream of fairly accurate ports of my favorite arcade titles. It was always great when companies like Sega or Konami went above and beyond with their home ports, and gave us an experience that was as good as or better than the cabinet.

Overall, I just feel lucky I got to experience the best of the 80s and 90s at the arcade.

Hollywood is in crisis as they lose 20% of moviegoers.

What's your take on that?
