After a pretty emotional week, a night out with good friends, good food and a damn good pickle martini was exactly what I needed. 🫶🏾

Parkwood American Grille has officially landed in Friendswood. The newest concept from restaurateur Raz Halili and Executive Chef Joe Cervantez—the team behind Pier 6—is a beautiful addition to their portfolio.

The menu has range: oysters on the half shell, roasted oysters, tuna tartare, sushi, seafood, pasta and a porterhouse steak, just to name a few. With Prestige Oysters in the mix, if you know nothing else, you know the oysters are going to have their moment.

As we coined it last night, the menu is approachable bougie. And y’all know I like a little bougie and a lot of bougie. 😂 Caviar makes several appearances, from the chicken nuggets and tuna tartare to the martini olives. Yes, you can select from different olives for your martini. And yes, you guessed it—I chose the ones stuffed with caviar.

The Ladies of Libation did their thing, per usual, with the cocktail program, and Chef Joe gave us plenty to talk about. We tasted our way through quite a bit of the menu, but I’m not giving it all away just yet.

Stay tuned for an upcoming episode of CultureMap Houston What’s Eric Eating as we break down the vibe, the food, the drinks—all the things. Until then, enjoy this little snapshot. 🤸🏾‍♀️

P.S. Before y’all @ me or slide into my DMs telling me I need a mic—No mic was required. The buzz of a busy restaurant—the conversations, the laughter, the clinking glasses, the movement, the whole damn thing—is literally one of my favorite things! It’s its own kind of symphony, and I wanted all of that energy to come through. It was intentional.

Somewhere between the long days, endless to-do lists, and everyone else needing a piece of me, I realized I can’t keep treating time with myself and the people I love like an afterthought. Meaningful friendships don’t maintain themselves — sometimes, you have to make the plans, protect the time, and show up on purpose.🤸🏾🥂

👉With fifty-eleven things always on my plate and life pulling me in a million different directions, I’ve had to be more intentional about one thing: making sure I’m on the list, too.

👉Some months I’m better at it than others. And as the year goes on and life gets busier, sometimes it takes a little pre-planning and a little extra effort. But it’s always worth it.

Dinner with my girls. Doing something fun just because I want to. Sliding in a date with the opposite s*x when the opportunity presents itself. 😏 Unplugging. Laughing. Loving on the people I love — and making space to love on me, too.

Because I’m worth the time. 💕

Last week, one of my girls was in town, so we made the time and headed to a tried-and-true Houston favorite, Caracol. And as usual, they delivered. 🙌🏾

And we still have a little time left for Houston Restaurant Weeks! HRW runs through September 7, and Caracol is participating this year. So if you’re still working your way through your HRW list, add this one to the rotation.

Good food. Good girlfriend time. Time well spent. 🫶🏾

Just two girlfriends, two cameras rolling, banana lattes and a conversation that organically turned into… this. 🤸🏽‍♂️🤸🏽‍♂️🤸🏽‍♂️

Nicole and I have been trying new things together for YEARS—makeup, food, products, all the things—so naturally Nicole had to try my latest obsession!

And if you know me, you KNOW I love pickles. Like… 6–7 jars in rotation because I need options AND there are pickle martinis to make. 😂🍸

So when Liquid I.V.® and Grillo's Pickles collaborated, I hit ADD TO CART immediately—and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

Was she convinced when I pulled it out? Absolutely not. 😂

Did I make a believer out of her? 👀 Watch and see.

👉Would you try it? And if you already have—what did you think?

Cookie Monster would’ve absolutely approved. 🍪💙😂

Y’all… the Cookie Monster Shake had me SHOOKETH.

The cookie-to-milkshake ratio? Exactly how it’s supposed to be. This is a milkshake, not a Blizzard, a Concrete, or a Marble Slab mix-in situation. I still wanted that creamy, sippable goodness, and The Burger Joint nailed it.

Loaded with all the cookies Cookie Monster would throw in a blender (because… obviously 😏), but somehow it still lets the milkshake be the star. That’s the sweet spot.

Considering it’s already hot as HELL… go ahead and treat yourself. Cool off from the inside out. Trust me on this one. 🥤☀️

Found my spirit animal in planter form — obviously a Pisces thing. This little fish planter had my name written all over it, and my Global Green Pothos? Thriving in her new home like she knew she belonged here. 🐠🪴
Linking this planter + a few other whimsical pots I’m loving right now. Your plants deserve a personality too. 🤸🏽‍♂️

Ebbing. Flowing. Releasing. Becoming.

This season isn’t about having it all figured out.

It’s about trusting the process. Choosing joy on purpose. Making room for what nourishes me and releasing what no longer does. 🤎

Some days I bloom. 🌸
Some days I rest. ☁️

Both are part of the journey.

My Vego raised bed is officially up and running! 🌱

🌻 First things first—shoutout to Vego Garden because the instructions were chef’s kiss. Everything was labeled, the diagrams were clear, and the setup was incredibly thoughtful.

The challenge? Me. By myself. In Houston heat. Trying to wrestle a 2’ x 6’ elevated raised bed with no extra set of hands. 😂

But after way more hours than I planned, I did it.

🌸 Layer by layer—cardboard, leaves, yard trimmings, coco coir, compost, manure, worm castings, soil, and a little perlite—this bed came together with a whole lot of sweat, sunscreen, water breaks, and determination.

Now she’s planted with zinnias, basil, and oregano, and I can’t wait to watch her grow.

🪴 What started as a gardening project turned into a reminder that I can do hard things. Growth doesn’t happen overnight—for plants or people. Sometimes it’s built one layer at a time.

The outdoor garden is officially joining the family, so if flowers, herbs, raised beds, and garden adventures are your thing, follow along over at . 🤸🏾🤸🏾🤸🏾

Here’s to blooming, growing, and figuring it out as we go.
