HPD is Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run on East Freeway near McCarty
A fatal hit-and-run occurred at 700 East Freeway around
2:05 AM on Sunday (Sept. 15). 35-year-old Dustin Dorcz was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking on East Freeway. The driver fled the scene without stopping to help, and the Dustin was pronounced deceased by paramedics. Investigation is ongoing to identify the vehicle involved.
His wife Lindsey is asking for the public's assistance and shared the following:
"My husband was killed early Sunday morning on I-10.
This was a hit and run. A witness said the car was swerving in and out of lanes and hit my husband who was on the shoulder walking. I'm including a picture from that day. We had just celebrated 5 years together. Please help us".

Here are the 3 suspects who have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred during a home invasion at the 7100 block of Alderney Drive on September 17. Raymond Perez, 35, is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, aggravated robbery, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Two others, Michael Perez, 38, and Brian Garcia Chavez, 18, are charged with aggravated robbery. Officer S. Durfee, who was shot in the leg during the incident, is recovering from a non-life-threatening injury. The suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Student stabbed at Ross Shaw Sterling High School in Houston, TX
HISD Police and HFD responded to an incident at the High School. No official word but parents are reaching out saying one student was stabbed during an altercation.
Another parent's child observed a student being taken to a police car.

Esencia Apartments on N Vista Dr and 45N.
A Hood News Peep sent in the following message and shares her Slumlord Experience with us:
Hey Grizzy and Hood News Peeps!
My boyfriend and I are living at the Esencia Apartments on N Vista Dr and 45N. We have only been there for a few months and we keep having issues with the property and management doesn't seem to help. We've had our apartment windows broken in, cars broken into and most recently they have a roach and bedbug infestation that they aren't taking care of. They also have a huge pile of trash in the back of the property that is bringing a lot of roaches and rodents all around. Many people are complaining but no one is helping us out. Can you help in anyway?
