There are releases that I know I’ll overpay for every single year.

The LE is one of them.

I’ve never won the lottery for one so I always grab one the secondary way lol.

They’re just delicious every year. Not a powerhouse, punch you in the face bourbon. A sweeter more subtle well executed bourbon.

They just hit every time.

I think the 2019 LE might be my favorite of all time but I have to say folks slept on 2024.

Haven’t tried 2025 yet but I’ve heard it’s really good. So I’ll be overpaying for it 😂

That’s not the case with this one. This is one of the four batches of 15 year bourbon from

If you’ve had it you know it HITS!

With the changes with the brand recently announced I’m just doing a lil sippin and reminiscing

This is one that got away: The Episode 63.

Well it didn’t get away as much as I was an idiot who let it get away.

I tried it while there, had a chance to buy the last one and passed it to a friend. Never stopped thinking about this one.

Had the chance to grab one and pounced on it.

So happy to add it to the whiskey library!

Moral of the story is when you taste something and you love it, don’t let your buddy buy it 😂

There’s something about blue corn bourbons. I tend to love them.

They give these sweet desserty flavors while always having incredible oiliness and velvety texture.

This one from and is one of the really well executed blue corn bourbons out there.

It’s got tart fruit, buttercream icing, butterscotch sweetness with that oily viscosity that I love.

At 6 years, 112 proof and $79.99 there’s no reason you shouldn’t give this one a spot on your shelf.

This is a tasty one.

One of the best ryes ever made.

In 2020 Jack Daniels decided to F around and we all found out.

This thing is powerful, bold, and balanced with enough sweetness to convince you it’s a bourbon if you blinded it.

Imagine passing on something this good because you’re “not into rye”

The last of the Masters Keep lineup.

Maybe? Possibly? Who knows.

What I do know though is that Beacon is a spectacular blend.

When I first cracked it, I felt like it was really good. But with just a little time, it opened up and became something really special.

The 16 year and 10 year blend brings together well aged characteristics like leather, slight to***co and a soft dusty cherry to the palate. But there’s butterscotch and soft sweet oak as well.

The finish is long with notes that remind me of tart fruit like a raspberry or cherry covered in chocolate

Is it better than the 15? That’s the wrong question. It’s different than the 15 and it’s on par with the quality. But they’re very different drinking experiences.

If you have the chance to grab this at MSRP get it.

This is the best Masters Keep I’ve had in a while.

you and Eddie did your thing with this one.

True to the Earth. True to Flavor.

I love that saying. You can find it on the back of every bottle of tequila.

One of the things I find intriguing about any spirits brand is when they understand their connection to the earth as the source of their flavor.

I’m no tree hugging environmentalists but I have to admit, there’s something important about the way they’re using the environment to produce amazing tasting tequila.

Cazcanes is both additive free and USDA organic. The water is volcanic spring water, the yeast comes from wild, naturally occurring yeast strains.

They’re making tequila the hard way.

Their tequila typically, for me, balances the sweet agave with deep earthy tones.

This extra añejo has something different though. Something special and unique. The influence of the ex-bourbon barrels still gives you a hint of those mineral earthy tones, the sweet agave but then rolls right into caramels, butterscotch, citrus and vanilla.

It is an EXPERIENCE.

If you see this…grab it.

Michters Monday

I know all the attention goes to the Michters 10 Bourbon and Rye but every time I have it, the barrel strength rye and the toasted barrel strength rye always hit.

For me they’re always unforgettable pours.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, does low proof whiskey like Michters.

All up and down their lineup is just good, quality whiskey.

And to that we can toast to.

What’s your favorite of the Michters lineup?

Every time I get to go by .hamilton.distillery I take it.

They’re a super small but mighty distillery in Brooklyn, NY.

Alex and Amy who own the brand are SALT OF THE EARTH.

I’m not big on finished whiskey but this honey finished rye is very tasty. It’s powerful enough and has enough proof to cut through the honey finish without losing the impact of that barrel.

The honey finish adds some raspberry, floral sweetness to the mix.

Long toasted oak on the finish.

Great people making great whiskey.

Next time you’re in NYC you need to get over to Fort Hamilton.
