This year has been the hardest in returning to the classroom. I love being an educator and helping plant the seed of knowledge into young minds but so much happened last year that left me discouraged, exhausted and feeling like a failure. This year you have new laws, an increase of students not performing well academically, so many voices from the sidelines that have never stepped in a classroom and many parents treating us like we are the enemy instead of respecting the work we show up to do. This year I am reminded this is a God assignment. God appointed and anointed me to do the work, but I seek Him always every step of the way. In my own strength I become frustrated, annoyed and irritated.
I hope my students feel the love in preparing the room for them. My cart was broken by boxes of books that fell and whew chile I left a ton of textbooks unopened. This weekend I shall rest. So I can hear God with clarity as press forward in doing my assignment for this season.
