The Man Who Moved a Mountain—Literally

Dashrath Manjhi was once called a madman. For 22 years, he carved through a mountain, stone by stone, to create a path for his village in Bihar, India. His wife’s tragic accident made him realize how dangerous the 70 km detour to the nearest hospital was. Armed with a hammer and sheer determination, he broke through the impossible.

Villagers laughed. He kept going. Rocks crumbled. He kept going.

With fire, water, and relentless grit, he carved a 1 km road—connecting his community to the world. Today, his story stands as proof that perseverance reshapes destiny.

Never underestimate a single determined soul.

For years, he was called a madman for toiling away on the rocks. But Dashrath Manjhi was not crazy. His quest to break a path through a small mountain to benefit the entire village is now legendary because he carved an entire road with hand tools, working for 22 years.

Dr. Kwane Stewart’s compassion goes beyond just treating animals—it’s about giving hope to those who need it most. After witnessing how many homeless individuals had to part with their pets during the 2011 recession, Dr. Stewart decided to make a difference.

He started by offering free veterinary services to homeless individuals and their pets, knowing that around 25% of homeless people own pets. What began as helping a few animals has now grown into a mission that has impacted over 400 animals, with Dr. Stewart raising $29,000 to cover their treatments.

In a world where loyalty and love are often tested, Dr. Stewart is showing us the power of kindness for both people and their furry companions. đŸ¶đŸ’™

While the stigma surrounding mental health still persists for many men, we’re seeing a positive shift. Historically, society has told men to "man up," but more and more, voices are emerging to say, “It’s okay to ask for help.” This cultural change signals real progress in breaking down barriers and opening up important conversations.

What’s at stake is the well-being of countless men who may feel they need to suffer in silence. But as we’ve seen from athletes, public figures, and everyday heroes, vulnerability is a powerful tool for growth.

There’s still work to be done, but the momentum toward greater openness is undeniable. Let’s continue to encourage each other, lead with empathy, and make mental health a conversation where strength is measured by support, not silence. 💙

Celebrating the Power of Positive Role Models:

Great news coming out of Bristol and Somerset! Following the release of the Netflix drama Adolescence and Gareth Southgate's Dimbleby lecture, local community leaders are stepping up to support young men with positive male role models. Organizations like Empire Fighting Chance and coaches like Matt Lawrence are showing that mentorship can change lives. These programs offer young men a safe space to express themselves, build self-belief, and tackle challenges like bullying and social isolation.

Why does this matter? As a society, we all have a role in shaping the future of the next generation. The positive impact of good male role models helps break cycles of negativity and empowers young men to grow into respectful, resilient leaders. Let's celebrate and support these efforts to create a brighter, kinder future!

The future of young men is one of the most pressing issues today, and it’s something we’re deeply focused on at Good Boy Media. As society continues to evolve, many young men are struggling to find their purpose, often feeling left behind or lost in the changing world. While the rise of women’s achievements is worth celebrating, there is a growing need to address the quiet crisis facing young men—one that includes rising su***de rates, withdrawal from education and work, and a feeling of alienation.

At Good Boy Media, we believe in unleashing kindness and positive role models, helping young men embrace a new form of masculinity—one that thrives in kindness, empathy, and action. It’s crucial that we create spaces where men, too, can find direction and belonging in today’s world.
