For Third Ward residents and new parents Ovie and Mikayla Cade, finding formula for their baby, Kennedy, has been difficult.

The Cades and many other parents around the nation have been haunted by empty shelves as voluntary recalls and COVID-19 pandemic-related supply chain issues have wrecked havoc on the infant formula supply chain.

To help, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee and volunteers from the National Association of Christian Churches Disaster Services handed out infant formula and sanitation supplies at Yates High School. https://trib.al/wlu2KuH

About the Host - Tami Frazier is a native Houstonian who has over a decade of experience in journalism and communications, having worked in TV news in both Houston and Louisiana, were she began her career as an on air news reporter covering City Hall at KALB TV in Alexandria Louisiana. Following her news career she began working in communications for various political office holders in Louisiana including former Attorney General Richard Ieyoub, former state treasurer John Kennedy, former Governor Kathleen Blanco and as Press Secretary to former New Orleans Mayor, Ray Nagin.

Upon returning to her hometown, she continued working in the field of communication having worked on marketing campaigns with Shell Oil, including its collaboration with the National Urban League to increase minority station ownership. Always having a desire to serve the community and work with children, Tami earned her Master’s degree in Education Administration from her alma mater, the University of Houston, and went on to a successful career as an educator with the Houston independent School District where she spent the last three years serving as an assistant principal.

Tami has now returned to her communications roots with the launch of the radio show, Saturday Talk, which was inspired by the round table conversations she would often have with her maternal grandfather, Clarence Miller, Sr., grandmother Lucille Miller, her mother and father, Bobbie and Willie Frazier, and aunt and uncle who always instilled her the importance of education and how to discuss and debate issues. Conversations would range on a variety of issues including local and national politics, economic, education, and social issues. As Tami states, “That exposure and those conversations is what gave me a love of communication and seeking information.”
