🍔 Banh-mi burger (45 of 50) 🍔
PJ's Pub Narragansett Beer
Smell: fresh lettuce, jalapeños and cucumbers on the top bun refresh the nostrils with a whiff of clean fresh air. The bottom bun is loaded with savory meat that heats my nostrils up with a hint if spice and umami
Appearance: a bed of green vegetables consisting of jalapeños, cilantro and cucumber sits on a layer of umami mayo. Crispy pork belly glazed with hoisin sauce rests ontop of a burger that also sits on umami mayo. Also under the burger is pickled carrots and daikon radish.
First bite: the first bite to this burger is very refreshing, definitely a good blast of lime and the veggies on the top bun. As I sunk through the veggies I hit the meat, the hoisin sauce on the crispy pork belly had the perfect amount of crunch, then my teeth sink into the perfectly cooked burger patty, which is a pj's classic. Once through the patty I hit another layer of umami but this time mixed with pickled Daikon and carrots.
Continuing eating: as I continued to eat this burger I was super super happy. Each bite was unique and consistent at the same time. This was a very well balanced with each bite.
After eating: I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy pork belly covered in the hoisin sauce, that stuck out the most to me. This was a super creative burger and does justice to a traditional banh-mi sandwich.
Final score: 9.7/10, with this burger there's no denying consistency, creativity and the overall flavor of the burger. Good job Sam!
