I see a lot of posts lately
about how people canโt
afford groceries. About how
expensive everything is.
About inflation. Talks on
how โitโs never been this
bad beforeโ. How our parents
and especially their parents
lived in an easier world.
Donโ t even get.me.started. on when I was watching the pre-planned PANICK & UPROAR we seen when individuals just THOUGHT their EBT was going to get cut off!
That system was BUILT to control, to keep people in
line from the day of its inception. CREATED to keep
the poor caged in poverty for generation after
generation. But Iโll stop there, as thats off topic and
perhaps meant for its own post.
And I get itโฆ..times are hard. Prices are wild. Itโs stressful and scary.
๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฅ๐๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ ๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐: being broke is not new. You know it, I know it, they know it. But before you go swimming in todays rhetoric and I mean uninitentionally begin swimmmming in alllll their opinions on the matter, let me pull you up real quick before you end up DROWNING in that doomsday like way of thinking. How they want and yes, need you to think/feel.
Because you WILL.DROWN.OVER.THERE

๐๐๐๐๐ sister, brother. So come on up, take this pink sparkly life raft, weโre movin on up!
I want to share something from my own life, not from a place of judgment, but from experience.
This is where we hit the part noone wants to hear.
SOME OF YOU ARE TOO PRIDEFUL TO GET OUT THE STRUGGLE.
Baby, if youre broke, that pride needs to take a backseat. Get some ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐ญ๐ฌโก๏ธ& headrests back there for your brokeness & your pride, itโll be sitting fine and comfy back there for just a little while.
SeeโฆI was broke before you could even admit such as it was not yet a collective thing for everyone. I hit my lowest before yall were treating being broke like a darn group project!
All that to remind you, once you remove the pride(not GONE just chillen in the back seat for a bit, remember?), the โsystems working against usโ mentalityโฆโฆyou now have time to get creative, resourceful baby. Where are all my millenials at anyways???! We were/ARE the KING of a good hustle! Come on now, show me those roots! You got comfy for a while, well dig them roots out! Noones going to do it for you. Our hustle game is a skill set, dont let that collect dust under your luie bags!! Cmon now!
So letโs roll back to when
there was a time when I didnโt
have the option to
be picky or proud. So what did I do?
I started dumpster diving for the very
first time.dive. Yep. Before here, I lived
in a condo and let me tell you about the
absolute treasures i found in those
dumpsters! Iโm not ashamed to say it,
yes i went dumpster diving. Now, not
ALL my pride was gone, I did wait
till around 2-3am before i snuck
out with my wholeโฆ.wait for
itโฆ.โdumpster bagโ which carried
gloves, sanitizer, sticks with handles
to grab things, flash lights, a huge hoodie
to cover my face, ect! I cleaned up (sometimes scruuuub SCRUBBED) what I found,
fixed what I could, sanitized it, played
photographer with found items
(even found THE PHOTO BOX I USED
TO DO SO in a dumpster one night lol),
then posted and sold it on FB Marketplace.
Youโd be surprised at the amount of items that needed ZERO fixing as they were brand new
and functioning, people throw out that type
of thing all the time! Soo many items
brand new & SEALED IN THE ORIGINAL BOX!
I recall one time we found soooo
many pairs of brand new, still in box shoes,
from small child to adult. My husband
and I to this day still each have theee
dopest pair of jordands we found
brand new IN OUR SIZE! Mind you,
these were not store dumpsters,
just a regular ol condo complex.
We always had countless vacuums
and printers as I guess people throw
those out for no good reason. I remember
one time, I found what looked like some part
to a real old school computer. Looked it up,
posted, and some man drove
from 2 states away to buy it off me for $700.
He was thrilled as according to him
hed been looking for that specific
part for ages & it simply didnt exist
anymore. Now keep in mind,
the real kicker here is I
was making 100 PERCENT profit!!
If im being honest, i was proud
of my โlittle businessโ
& my 5 star rating. This was during the
time before the governmet and
taxes stuck their nose in it. Iโm not
going to inflate numbers, but from this alone i was making $6-800/week.
Maybe those dont sound like
crazy to you, but 1. Im not here
to make up stories & 2.
Again, 100% profit. I also
kept good reviews as i was never
trying to do anyone wrong, if they
got home & the item didnt work
how they liked, i made it right always.
See, i said you cant be broke with too
much PRIDE, I didnt say to ever move
without keeping
๐ O U R
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐.
Thats how people
block their own blessings! I wasnโt doing it for attention. I wasnโt doing it because it was fun or trendy. I was doing it because I needed to survive and well, because it worked.
AND LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THOSE HAND MADE MASKS! You heard right. Didnt forget already did ya? About all those suddenly PRO MASK MAKERS that came out the wood works during CO๐ID??!? Those people were slingin hundreds and hundreds of those hand made masks out their windows in 2020! The MASK HUSTLE๐ Iโll tip my hat to those people!๐๐ผ๐๐ฅณ
I basically built my own little hustle out of what other people threw away.
What I learned during that season is that pride can
Not money. Pride. The idea that youโre โtoo goodโ for certain things, or that you shouldnโt have to do them. Survival doesnโt care about pride. Bills donโt care about pride. Hunger definitely doesnโt.
This isnโt me saying โjust work harderโ or dismissing anyoneโs struggles. Everyoneโs situation is different. But I do believe weโve lost some adaptability as a society. Hard times used to force creativity. Now they often just turn into complaints, and I say that as someone whoโs been on both sides.
Iโm not ashamed of that chapter of my life nor the many like it if weโre keeping it real here. It taught me resourcefulness, humility, and resilience. And those skills carried me a lot farther than pride ever did.
If youโre in a tough season right now: there is no shame in survival mode. Do what you have to do. Get creative. Be humble. Use whatโs available to you. This chapter doesnโt define you โ but how you respond to it can shape everything that comes next.
Just be careful that prideo doesnt KEEP YOU STUCK.
Take what resonates. Leave what doesnโt.
////This is just my story. ////๐
Iโll end this on my favorite note- I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU, my hustling millennials especially, what was/is your favorite hustle? Did it come about from your own creativity? Your own idea? Did generations of family before you put you on? I also wanna hear the FAILED hustles(Ill share mine too) so we can cry, reminince, and laugh our way thru this TOGHETER community๐
