This is my opinion, not facts. Hate me all you want.

1️⃣ Urgent Care – Sounds fun, right? Wide variety, quick shifts… until you realize you’re solo, drowning in patients, and making decisions without enough experience or mentorship. 🚑 You need time to build confidence, not get thrown into chaos.

2️⃣ Emergency Medicine (without a fellowship) – EM is intense. As a new grad without advanced training, you’re expected to make split-second life-or-death decisions. That’s not fair to you or your patients. Get your skills up first.

3️⃣ Cosmetics – The money is tempting, but there’s little to no medical variety. You’ll be injecting lips and foreheads all day, and those procedural skills don’t easily translate back into general medicine. 💉 Pretty work, but not the best foundation.

🚨 My GPA was too low for PA school… or so they said. 🚨

When I applied to PA school, my stats were considered “unacceptable”:
📊 Overall GPA: 3.2
🔬 Science GPA: 3.19
⏱ Patient Care Hours: 17,000+

And still… I got accepted. I graduated. I passed the PANCE with a great score.

Your GPA is just one piece of your application. Experience, resilience, and how you tell your story matter just as much, and sometimes more.

If you’ve got the heart for this profession, there’s a way forward. Keep pushing. You’ve got this. 🩺

Little eyes are always watching. 🏋️‍♂️💙

As an ENT PA, I spend my days helping patients breathe easier, hear better, and live healthier. But at home, my most important job is showing my boys what that looks like in real life.

It’s not just about telling our kids to make healthy choices—it’s about showing them. Whether it’s moving our bodies, eating nourishing foods, or making time for self-care, our actions are the blueprint they’ll follow.

Health starts at home, and it’s a lifelong lesson I want my boys to grow up living. 💪
