My 9-year-old asked me the other day why men should open doors for women.
He said it with a little smirk too and a slight attitude -
“They should hold the door for men also.”
I paused.
Then I said this, gently:
Every single man who has ever lived was carried inside a woman’s body for nine months.
Every single one was brought into this world through pain, sacrifice, and strength that changes a woman forever.
So yes - men can hold doors for women.
Not because women are weak.
But because women are powerful beyond measure.
Respect is not submission.
Chivalry is not control.
It’s acknowledgment.
He nodded.
He understood. And I will never forget the look on his little face when he got it.
And honestly… that gave me hope.❤️🔥
Because this is how we raise better men.
Not with shame.
But with truth.
And this is how we remind women -
your body is not ordinary.
Your labor is not invisible.
Your strength deserves recognition.
Viking women didn’t ask for permission.
Many women were never honored - but they carried the world anyway.
