History has taught us something dangerous: rights are rarely lost all at once — they are weakened slowly through silence, division, fear, political loyalty, legal erosion, and public exhaustion.
When protections for voting, education, opportunity, truthful history, diversity, and equal treatment begin to disappear, the issue is no longer Black or Brown alone — the moral foundation of America itself is being tested.
The question is no longer whether we disagree politically.
The question is whether we still possess enough humanity, courage, justice, and spiritual conviction to protect the dignity of ALL people.
I can still hear my mother’s voice trembling as she spoke about the struggle for the right to vote in her generation.
Yet through all the pain, division, and injustice, she would always say:“Love all people — no matter what they do, say, or believe. Pray. Trust God. Never lose your humanity.”
That generation carried the burden. Many of them fought, marched, prayed, suffered, and died for freedoms too many now take lightly.
Now that generation is passing on the torch. It is time for a new generation to rise with wisdom, courage, truth, compassion, and moral conviction — and continue the fight for equal rights, justice, dignity, and opportunity for ALL people.
As believers, we must ask ourselves:
Will we defend party over people?
Power over principle?
Politics over the teachings of Jesus Christ?
A nation cannot heal while teaching people to fear each other.”
