I was able to see some really cool things on my trip to D.C. last week. This is a photo of the white house at night viewed from the north side. What’s something in D.C. I should check out next time I’m there?

Walking across history. During my trip to D.C. I was able to walk across the Francis Scott Key Bridge connecting Rosslyn to Georgetown. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will begin a project to resurface around 3.5 miles of US-231/US-431/N Memorial Parkway TODAY (Sept. 8), weather permitting.

The project will cover the parkway mainline from Country Club Avenue Northwest to Cedarama Drive northwest.

To minimize impacts on daytime traffic, ALDOT North Region says they plan to conduct most of the work overnight. Single-lane closures are expected from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights.

Drivers traveling through the work zone should slow down, use caution and allow additional time.
