BREAKING: Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby is eligible for the 2026 season

After weeks of questions around his NCAA status, Texas Tech’s quarterback situation just changed in a massive way. Sorsby is now expected to be eligible for the 2026 season, giving the Red Raiders one of the most important pieces back in place.

This is a huge development not just for Texas Tech, but for the entire Big 12 race.

Sorsby was one of the top transfer quarterbacks in the country after a strong season at Cincinnati, and now Texas Tech can move forward with its projected QB1 instead of scrambling for answers before the season.

The bigger question now:
Does this put Texas Tech right back in the Big 12 title conversation?

Because if Sorsby is on the field, the Red Raiders just became a lot more dangerous.
