When you see all those little fabric tags, stop and check the brand.

Taggies by Mary Meyer are designed as sensory toys, with those colorful textured loops giving babies something to touch and explore. That makes them more than just another stuffed animal.

And that's exactly what we're looking for while sourcing: plush with a purpose.

Baby plush can also have a replacement market. Parents may be searching for the exact elephant, bunny, lovey, or security toy their child already knows and loves.

So when you're digging through plush, look beyond the animal.

🎓 The Lesson

Look for plush with a PURPOSE.

This wasn't simply another tiger stuffed animal. It's a Tooth Fairy pillow, giving parents a specific reason to search for it and separating it from thousands of ordinary tiger plush.

That's something worth remembering while sourcing.

Tooth Fairy pillows, security loveys, puppets, sensory toys, activity plush, music boxes, nightlights, and plush bags can have an advantage because buyers aren't just searching for an animal. They're searching for a function.

And don't ignore Maison Chic when you see the tag. Unique designs and specialty baby and children's items are always worth checking.

🎓 The Lesson

Kellytoy is bigger than Squishmallows.

Most newer resellers immediately associate Kellytoy with Squishmallows, but the company produced plenty of other plush lines worth knowing, including Beanpals.

This wasn't a massive-dollar sale, but that's not the lesson.

The lesson is to recognize the manufacturer even when the plush line isn't the one everybody is hunting.

Older Kellytoy + named product line + cute animal + 25-cent buy-in made this an easy item to take a chance on.

Sometimes expanding your BOLO knowledge by just one product line is all it takes to find something everyone else leaves behind. 🐶🔥
