🎓 This wasn’t your typical graduation…
It wasn’t a school ceremony.
It was a graduation in leadership.
In growth.
In identity.
In power.
And, most of all, a declaration that we belong in rooms where no one ever expected to see us. From the time I was little, I grew up in my mom’s salon. There I learned far more than beauty—I learned strength, creativity, and what it means to fight with heart. Everything she’s overcome with love and resilience inspires me to keep innovating and carry forward a legacy that began long before me. 💖Taking part in the (powered by and the City of Indianapolis) has been truly transformative. I was the only person representing the beauty sector, but it goes beyond that…
It’s about serving my community.
It’s about recognizing the power I have to create real change—especially at a time when our communities are being silenced, overlooked, and threatened.
This program reminded me that we do belong in spaces of leadership, policy, and transformation. As beauty professionals, we are also educators, guides, voices, and bridges for change.
Thank you, Cohort 7, for walking beside me and teaching me so much.
And thank you, Mom— , for planting this seed. 🌱

To my fellow nail techs, hairstylists, estheticians, barbers, and even future beauty professionals — you belong in every room where decisions are being made. Don’t be afraid to lead, to speak up, and to represent us with pride. The future of this industry is in our hands 💖
