A year ago today, I walked into school to start my instructor’s license. One year later… I own a school. And somehow still run my salon. 🥹✨
Technically, this should’ve been my graduation week — but I pushed myself through 40–50 hour weeks so I could finish early and build the future I knew was waiting for me.
One of the hardest parts wasn’t the hours… it was having to dress down.
Walking into school and having instructors look at me like I was doing “too much” just because I wanted to look good, feel good, and show up as the instructor I knew I’d become. Presentation is professionalism — and in the beauty industry, we are the brand.
But what kept me going… was my students.
The “Good morning, Hollywood!”
The “Your outfit is so cute!”
The little Envy stares that said everything without saying anything.
Those tiny moments brought light into an environment that often felt so dark.
You all reminded me why I was there and what kind of educator I wanted to grow into.
To the students who were part of this chapter: thank you.
Thank you for encouraging me, motivating me, and understanding how hard it is to show up for yourself every single day while balancing life. You don’t know how much your words carried me.
As an instructor and now a school owner, my promise is this:
✨ I will never create a hostile environment.
✨ I will motivate you to look good, feel good, and represent our industry with pride.
✨ I will always create a space where you can shine, be yourself, and grow into the professional you dream of being.
Here’s to growth, grit, and a whole new chapter ahead. We’re just getting started. 🤍🎓✨
