Today, we honor the Buffalo Soldiers—the courageous African American men who served in the U.S. Army after the Civil War, paving the way for generations of Black service members.
Formed in 1866, these soldiers faced discrimination, harsh conditions, and dangerous missions—but they served with honor, bravery, and resilience.
Their legacy reminds us that patriotism knows no color and that true heroes often fight two battles: one for their country and one for equality.
Let us remember, reflect, and share their story.
