Libraries do more than house books. They preserve stories, connect communities, and create spaces where history and culture can be explored and celebrated.

In recognition of National Friends of Libraries Week, Enhanced DNA Publishing is proud to spotlight the Center for Black Literature & Culture at the Indianapolis Public Library’s Central Library.

The Center provides a dedicated space to celebrate the heritage, literature, history, and contributions of people of African descent. As a publisher, I especially appreciate spaces that make sure our stories are not only written but also preserved, accessible, and shared for generations to come.

To identify your genre, think about the main goal of your book and who you’re trying to reach. Ask yourself what readers will gain from it and what other books yours would sit beside on a shelf. If your book teaches, it may fall under self-help or business. If it tells your personal story to inspire others, it may be a memoir. If it blends elements, pick the genre that best reflects the book’s core message and reader experience. This makes it easier for the right audience to find you.

As we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Enhanced DNA Publishing is honored to shine a spotlight on an upcoming book from one of our authors, Sonya Ruff Jarvis.
In “The Year I Wore Pink: 25+ Years Beyond Breast Cancer”, Sonya shares her journey beyond a breast cancer diagnosis and the perspective that comes from being able to look back more than 25 years later.

This is more than a story about breast cancer. It is a story of life, resilience, faith, reflection, and what it means to keep moving forward.
