“Echoes in the Wall”

Kate had just moved into the old apartment. It was cheap, quiet, and perfect for her writing… until the tapping began.

Every night at 3:03 a.m., faint knocks echoed from inside the bedroom wall—always three, always spaced exactly five seconds apart.

She thought it was pipes. Or rats.

Until one night, she knocked back.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Then came a response:

> Tap. Tap. Tap.
Tap. Tap.
Tap.

She googled it.

Morse code.
It spelled:
“H-E-L-P M-E”

That night, her wall started bleeding.

“The Last Voice Message”

At 2:47 a.m., Jane’s phone buzzed—one new voice note from her sister, who had been missing for three days.

Shaking, she pressed play.
All she heard was frantic breathing… then a whisper:

> “Don’t trust the man in the black cap… he’s already inside.”

Ada froze.

Then came a knock on her bedroom door.

Manar Maged was born in Egypt in 2004 with an extremely rare condition known as craniopagus parasiticus, where a parasitic twin’s head was attached to her own.

The second head, later named Islaam, had no body but showed limited neurological activity it could blink, smile, and appeared to react to its surroundings.

Because the parasitic twin relied entirely on Manar’s blood supply, it placed a heavy burden on her heart and posed a serious threat to her survival.

At 10 months old, Manar underwent a highly complex and risky 13-hour surgery performed by a team of 13 surgeons at Benha Children’s Hospital in Cairo to remove the parasitic head.

Initially, the surgery was deemed a success, drawing international attention and praise.

Manar even appeared in media coverage, including The Oprah Winfrey Show and the documentary series BodyShock.

However, her recovery was complicated by further health issues, including fluid buildup in the brain and a severe infection.

Despite the best medical efforts, Manar passed away on March 25, 2006, just five days before her second birthday.

Her case remains one of the few known instances where a child with this condition survived long enough for surgical intervention, offering valuable insights into one of the rarest forms of conjoined twinning ever recorded.

In August 2021, barred by pandemic border closures from attending his Aunt Debby’s Brisbane funeral, Australian sheep farmer Ben Jackson laid grain in a heart shape in his pasture; his sheep gathered into it, and he shared the drone footage at her service.
