Iâm new to FB, and thrilled to see this group of neon fans! I have always loved signs, especially neon, as Iâve seen them as an outward manifestation of a dream by an entrepreneur, to the world.
The long and continuing road back to glory for the Fairhart Hotel sign, from Morton Washington. I picked this up several years ago from a retiring neon sign guy in Seattle. He had completed much of the neon to light it up again, but had lost interest in retiring. I loved the way it looked in showing its age, as like many of us, the scars celebrate our story. I just continued on his path to restore the neon- to me, the old/new look is coolâŠin this case, cooler than if it was repainted. I donât know much history of the Fairhart, if anyone does I would love to know. I had a steel rolling stand built that will be its permanent, moveable home for events and display. The original building is still there, looking good, and the original brackets for the sign are still visible- photos from google. The steel frame is still with the sign and I will incorporate it into the new stand.
