She says this all so well. We live in dark times but each of us gets to decide in what ways we can help. Make compassion cool again.

The older I get the less I am absolutely and completely sure of.

This is true of what I think about God, people, the world, rules for teenagers, jean styles and who anyone is in People Magazine.

But, trust this administration to give me things I am hands down completely sure about.

For example, putting up golden statues of yourself and attempting to hang your own face everywhere?

Bad.

Spending billionaire’s donations and/or the public tax payer’s money to build a giant ballroom while cutting funding for things like food for the poor and healthcare for your citizens not to mention ending aid promised to people around the world?

Super bad.

Continually trying to persecute people that do not agree with you, stripping people of their rights and threatening them with all manner of things for using their free speech?

Really bad.

Going after your own people, citizens that were not born in this country, those seeking asylum and really any human and then forcibly detaining them while not providing access to clean water, food and healthcare or legal help?

Bad in a way that is so cruel I wake up some mornings and cannot believe we have people waking up in these places.

Allowing those who have hurt women and children in the most intimate and brutal of ways to not only walk free but to lead?

Welp, not sure I can come up with a word that says how bad this is.

This list is the tip of the iceburg, the things that just spring to mind if you will.

Then throw in a giant Rededication to God celebration, as if all these things you are doing are all part of God’s kingdom?

This level of bad is also blasphemous in a way that breaks my heart, the appropriation of Christianly for the purpose of hurting people is just a real low.

Because while they are praying with their mouths they are also trying to blame our problems on the very people Jesus came to tell us to help, the poor, the powerless, the immigrant, those who have been pushed to the margins of society is just next level.

(Spoiler alert: the person who is just trying to get out of a bad time and needs some food assistance is not the reason for our economic woes. The fact my college kid had to pay more in taxes than the billionaires in this country? Maybe a problem.)

Also, fun fact, religious freedom is supposed to be a thing, we do not have a national religion and you are free to believe whatever you want including that God doesn’t even exist.

So while I am sure of less, I am also super sure this is not normal, it does not emulate Jesus, it is not kind, it is not good and it is not from God.

The fusing together of praising God AND Donald Trump? It’s just a nope.

So rest assured you have not lost your mind. None of this is OK.

The cognitive dissonance is indeed staggering.

You are not alone.

I am right there with you friend.

We have to just keep fighting. Calling it out. Stay steady and strong in what you know to be right.

Keep on doing the right thing for people around you today, don’t let your elected officials off the hook, give money to campaigns you support and to your local food pantries if you can, call out what you see to those who will listen.

They can pray under the flag all they want. The rottenness of their fruit is still just super rotten because it is all just words.

So we have to be prayer in action…the kind of action that helps those that continue to be hurt.

I know this what we need now more than ever.

What a beautiful and hopefully story; it warms my heart and brings joy to my day. In a world filled with so much violence and chaos, I need these reminders of humanity being their best selves.

Interesting poll numbers; Americans are fed up and tired of being the last priority on the list.

It isn't so much red versus blue anymore: It's the haves vs. the have-nots. Shareholders are doing great; labor and consumers aren't.

It's time for a change after 50 years of trickle-down economics that never trickled down.

"You can't earn a billion dollars." Days after AOC said that on a podcast, she took first place in a poll for the 2028 Democratic primary for the first time,

In the AtlasIntel 2028 Democratic primary poll, the same firm Nate Silver named most accurate pollster of the 2024 election. AOC at 26 percent. Pete Buttigieg at 22. Gavin Newsom at 21. Kamala Harris, the supposed frontrunner, collapsed to fourth at 13.

AOC was clear: Nobody works hard enough to pile up a BILLION dollars. You hoard that much by squeezing labor, breaking rules, cornering markets, and paying workers less than what their work is worth. The "earning" gets added afterward. It's the myth the rich need so the rest of us blame ourselves.

She's not making it up.

The richest 1 percent now owns 31.7 percent of all the wealth in this country. That's the highest share the Federal Reserve has ever recorded in data going back to 1989. Roughly 55 trillion dollars sits with that sliver of the population, about the same as the bottom 90 percent of Americans combined.

So when rent eats half your paycheck, when groceries hurt, when a medical bill lands and you flinch, the system did that. Not your work ethic. Not some character flaw your boss invented at your last review.

That's the message landing.

AtlasIntel had AOC up ten points in five months. Newsom dropped fourteen.

The "moderate, electable" lane is shrinking in real time, because workers got the bill for forty years of trickle-down and finally looked at the math.

When David Axelrod asked her about 2028, she didn't take the bait. She said her ambition is bigger than any seat. Her ambition is to change the country.

People keep underestimating her. They did the same in 2018, when she knocked off the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House at 28 years old. She raised over 15 million dollars in 2025, 99 percent of it from small donors.

She and Bernie have been pulling 30,000-plus crowds in LA and Denver.

The billionaire class spent decades convincing working people that the game was fair. AOC keeps grabbing the microphone. And finally, the country is listening.

In simpler times we'd have called this what it is: cheating and corruption. It's at a minimum morally wrong. It's actually much more than that. The only way to change it is to come out in numbers so great that we can find a way to fix it. If you're not in this fight, but believe it's wrong, get to work. Explain to people what just happened. Then, do everything you can to get people out to Vote Blue. Our Democracy will disappear without everyone working to stop it.

In a matter of days, Republican governors across the South — Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, and more — called special sessions to rip apart majority-Black congressional districts after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act last week. No debate. No hand-wringing. No "let the people decide." Just a coordinated, breakneck power grab to eliminate Black representation from Congress before the 2026 midterms.

Meanwhile in Virginia? Democrats did everything right. They took their redistricting plan to an actual ballot. Put it before the voters. And WON. What happened? Republicans ran to the courts, and Virginia's conservative Supreme Court let a lower-court ruling stand — blocking officials from even certifying the results of a vote the people already cast. A statewide democratic vote. Nullified. Just like that.

And then — I need you to sit with this — Chief Justice John Roberts had the audacity to stand up THIS WEEK and say that Supreme Court justices are not "purely political actors." That they just follow the law. That the Court is "simply not part of the political process."

Sir. SIR. You just struck down a Louisiana map that protected two majority-Black districts under the Voting Rights Act. You handed Republicans a weapon to dismantle Black political power across the entire South. And you want us to believe that's just... "following the law"?

Let's call this what it is. This is not new. We have seen this BEFORE.

During Reconstruction, Black Americans held more congressional seats than at any point in the prior 90 years of American history — a breakthrough that white supremacists then spent decades destroying through gerrymandering, poll taxes, and voter intimidation. Today's Republican Party is using the same tools to roll back the representation it took 150 years to rebuild.

This is a coordinated, multi-front assault on Black political representation. And the audacity to tell us the courts aren't political while using those same courts to suppress millions of votes is breathtaking.
