Only a leader can train and make another leader.

I sometimes I feel I failed at being a leader or manager or supervisor. Why? Because I still do not have the fundamentals to be a leader. I can be a leader in theory, but when it comes to field experience and leading other people, I have doubts.

Until I've utilized a few leadership pricinples that I've learn over a span of 20+ years, then my confidence in my leaderships skills and choices shine.

Learn and Be Curious:

When I was a mentor at California State University, Los Angeles my mentee was asking about how to become a cyber security professional in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) I did my research and gave him my findings.

Bias for Action:

A few years later, I used the small research to start my journey in cyber security at Cypress College. During my time there as a student, I had an internship with Intelligints, LLC

Deliver Results:

I've worked there in the past. Any skills are transferable. Inside Bank of America (BofA) there are levels of fiscal responsibility. I started of course at the lowest level and level 1 would be the HIGHEST. BofA has enough roles that you can move around and learn the different parts of the bank. I had a role that dealt with commercial and consumer banking.

As a 'leasing specialist' that is the title I see, you would probably fit as a front facing role where you talk to clients or business about maybe starting an account or even applying for a business loan. Your current skills are transferable to any role.

I am actually hating myself for being terminated at work on 2-7-2025. The role was easy, but the distance was 25 miles and trek home was 2 hours at a time. 1 year and 8 months. That was longer then my other roles which was only 1 year. My job after 2018, it went 2 to 3 years.

What am I doing wrong? Why are companies letting me go? Is it because I have no value? What is it? I have to remember that companies need people to operate. So, why have I been unemployed 8 times in my 20 years in the work force? I ask God to show me. His response now is to just be still . . .

You will survive. You know why I know? Did the layoff KILL YOU? Nope.

I've been in the work force about 20 years now. Let me count my layoffs years

1) 2001
2) 2010
3) 2013
4) 2014
5) 2018
6) 2022
7) 2023
8) 2025

Guess what? I am still alive! I still have my experiences. I still have my skills. I still have my ambition.

[Insert Name Here] dust yourself off. The layoff may seem a setback, but use this time to reflect, rest, plan, regroup, and execute your next move.

I had to sell a car with 160K miles
My aunt's car is 142k
My used car is 224K
My OTHER used car is 100K

So, if I die . . . well only God will when my time comes.

Higher age comes with wisdom.

Businesses don't like at our age. We are looked as a commodity and what value you do we currently bring to the company.

God will provide, but I cannot let my emotions take the best of me. I've had a 2-3 year valley with no work. I know how that felt like and I've come out of that valley more resislent and more presistent.

FYI: I've documented 20 years from 2005 to 2025 of my Job Hunting journey. No one wants to read about the struggles, but people only want to see the WINS and victory.

For example, I do not have a Costco Wholesale membership card. I still shop at Food 4 Less NO MEMBERSHIP required.

LinkedIn still has to make money. So, if paying for the GOLDEN membership provides more features, more power to you.

I've been hunting for work before 2005 and even journalized and documented my journey. The key to find a job is this. The company has a business problem they cannot solve internally in the company. They have to hire some outside source to bring them in to solve that business problem. Hope this helps. Happy job hunting!

Power, Wisdom, Courage is based of a video game call "The Legend of Zelda" where the Triforce is described as an in-game mechanic. One must have a balance of power, wisdom, and courage to achieve great difficult and hard challenges in front of them.

That is my story . . . but its actually using my testimony to glorify God.

This is just my opinion:
Building a brand online takes time.
Time is an asset I cannot waste.
I have to say NO on building an online brand. Why? The time I spent building the brand 'wasted time' with no return.

Twitch for example takes a content stream 5 years to be able sustain themselves streaming for a living.

Facebook will change their platform limiting you path of growth

hashtag now called hashtag just changed ownership and cannot monetize as easily

So, NO, I cannot build my online presence or brand.

My brand started when I was created by God. He crafted me in a unique way to reach others and tell the people in this world about his Son, Jesus. Jesus died for our sins so we as children of God have ever lasting life.
