Love Out Loud with the Scotts ❤️
There are moments in marriage that remind you just how blessed you are, and yesterday was one of those moments.
We’ve been working hard to transform our backyard into the oasis we’ve always envisioned. After spending hours staining and protecting our new deck, I left one small section unstained because a contractor needed to secure a few deck boards. He watched me working and knew exactly which area had not been stained.
When I returned from a quick errand, we discovered muddy footprints tracked across the freshly stained deck. It was frustrating because there had been a dry path available. As it got closer to time for me to leave for work, my wife looked at the deck and said, “This needs to be fixed now!” I told her, “Don’t worry about it. I’ll take care of it when I get home.”
The problem was it really needed to be handled sooner rather than later. If the mud dried into the stain and protectant, it could have required much more work to repair.
A little while later, while I was at work, my phone rang. It was my wife on FaceTime holding the pressure washer and asking, “How do I turn this thing on?” I smiled because I knew exactly what she was about to do.
She pressure washed the muddy footprints before they could dry into the stain, then mopped up the water. She didn’t wait for me to come home or allow the problem to get worse. She stepped in and handled it.
That wasn’t just a deck repair—it was love in action.
Marriage isn’t only about the grand gestures. It’s about having a spouse who sees your hard work, values what you’re building together, and steps in because your dreams become her dreams too.
Baby, thank you for loving me so well, for protecting what we’re building together, and for always being my teammate. We’re building more than a beautiful backyard—we’re building a life together, one act of love at a time.
Love Out Loud isn’t just something we say. It’s something we strive to live every day. ❤️
