My Neighbor Kept Stealing My Wi-Fi… But He Made One Huge Mistake
Part 1 — The Mysterious Wi-Fi Thief
I had been living in my apartment for almost two years, and honestly, the place was pretty peaceful.
Well… except for my neighbor, Mr. Daniel.
Daniel was the kind of neighbor who somehow knew everything happening in the building.
If someone ordered pizza, Daniel knew.
If someone came home late, Daniel knew.
If a package was delivered to the wrong door, Daniel would appear out of nowhere like he had been waiting behind the wall.
He was friendly, but sometimes a little TOO friendly.
One Saturday morning, I was sitting on my couch drinking coffee when my internet suddenly became painfully slow.
I restarted the router.
Nothing.
I restarted my laptop.
Nothing.
Then I checked the connected devices on my Wi-Fi.
There were twelve devices connected.
I lived alone.
I stared at the screen for a few seconds.
“TWELVE?!”
I owned a phone, a laptop, a TV, and maybe one tablet I hadn’t touched in months.
So who were the other eight devices?
I changed my Wi-Fi password immediately.
Five minutes later, everything went back to normal.
Problem solved.
Or so I thought.
About twenty minutes later, someone knocked on my door.
It was Daniel.
He looked unusually nervous.
“Hey,” he said casually. “Is your internet working?”
I slowly looked at him.
“Yes…”
He scratched his head.
“Interesting. Mine suddenly stopped working.”
I almost laughed.
But I decided not to accuse him.
Instead, I smiled and said, “Maybe you should call your internet company.”
He nodded.
“Yeah… yeah… probably.”
Then he went back to his apartment.
That evening, I changed my Wi-Fi name from:
HOME_WIFI
to:
STOP_USING_MY_WIFI_DANIEL
I laughed for almost ten minutes.
The next morning, the Wi-Fi name had been changed.
Not by me.
Someone had renamed it:
SORRY_BRO
I nearly dropped my coffee.
Daniel had somehow gotten access to my router again.
Now it wasn’t just funny.
It was war.
And I had a plan.
A very stupid plan.
But sometimes, the stupidest plans are the most entertaining.
