Some people would give anything for a clean, quiet house.
I’d give anything for the laughter, the mess, the toys everywhere, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with having my kids home.
When they’re under my roof and within my reach, there’s a comfort in feeling like I can protect them from the world, even if I know I can’t protect them from everything.
And when they’re not with me, I’m learning a different kind of motherhood—surrender.
I surrender what I can’t control to God. I ask Him to go where I can’t, to shield my babies when my arms can’t, to guide their hearts, protect their innocence, and allow them to love, learn, and experience life in the way He knows is best for them.
Their toys may still be scattered around the house, but without their laughter, it feels incredibly empty.
This first weekend away hit especially hard.
