I would like to give a special shout out to my friend and colleague Sammy Wags for this incredible musical accomplishment "Victory At Last", and to all his extraordinarily talented cohorts. Too many to mention. But The Brighton Beat have put out a truly special record that is diverse, engaging, creative, and beautifully recorded. I can’t recommend this enough! Groove, melody, and color…. What more can we want? And tonight, September 12th, they will be playing in the Middle East Restaurant & Nightclub in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was an honor and a real good time to have 3 time Grammy winner, multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell at my studio today for pedal steel, guitar, and fiddle overdubs on a release I’ll soon be sharing with you all from Joanne Lediger. By an odd coincidence, Larry went to Fordham Prep the same year as my oldest brother, and he knew him pretty well. Larry played with so many great performers like Bob Dylan, Phil Lesh, Emmylou Harris, and Jackson Browne, and spent seven years in the Levon Helm Band with the Midnight Rambles. We’ve intersected a couple of time over the years, but this was my first opportunity to produce and record him. Is he as cool as he seems? Well…. Yeah!! And man, can he play.

Many years ago I was brought in by my dear friend and frequent collaborator Roy Finch to record the music for the sound track album to the film Follow Me Home, which is now in re-release. What I can see now is how far ahead of it’s time it was in terms of expressing things that only today are people becoming aware of. I ultimately mixed the sound track CD. And I have just this past week re-mastered the music for current release. Follow Me Home is now streaming. Please check it out!
