Part 10 of turning a pre-loved Facebook Marketplace pool into our dream backyard 🌊✨

What in the world… WE HAVE A POOL!! Well, kind of 🤣

It wouldn’t be our project if we didn’t run into some kind of trouble. Thankfully we were prepared for the worst-case scenario with the walls (so much for those “small little rust spots” 😂🫠), had extra spray adhesive for the cove molding… but you guys, THIS LINER 😅

There’s a solid chance we’re missing something because no matter how carefully we straighten one section, it creates absolute havoc somewhere else.

We know enough not to add water until we get it sorted… but we also don’t have a lot of time to figure it out because we can’t leave this baby standing unfilled 😬

Send us all the good vibes because Part 11 is either going to be VERY exciting… or very, very humbling 😂🌊

P.S. The BIGGEST shoutout to our parents because there is absolutely no way we could have done this without them 🥹🫶🏻

Part 9 of turning a pre-loved Facebook Marketplace pool into our dream backyard 🌊✨

It’s safe to say a trencher just shot straight to the top of Nate’s Christmas list 🤣

But also, did we just have another few days of work with not a whole lot of setbacks?! Who. Are. We. 😂

We did find a couple of broken tabs because apparently this pool still needs to keep us humble 😅 but replacements are already on the way, so I’m choosing to call this one a WIN.

Home stretch, fam!! Our goal is to be swimming by Labor Day and we are feeling optimistic! 🌊🙏🏻

Next up: wrapping up the last of the leveling… and then it’ll be all hands on deck because WE’RE GETTING THESE WALLS UP!! 💃🏻

At this point, this entire project is basically running on blind faith, optimism, and the assumption that somehow this is all going to work out 😂🙏🏻

Part 7 of turning a pre-loved Facebook Marketplace pool into our dream backyard 🌊✨

We have an ongoing list in this house of things we’re glad we did, but absolutely never want to do again… I will officially be adding leveling our yard to that list. Right alongside installing the fence 🤣

What I thought would be a fairly straightforward step turned into a whole lot of digging, measuring, moving dirt, measuring again, moving more dirt, and slowly losing our minds trying to get this giant patch of ground level 😅

Not exactly the most exciting part of the pool makeover, and certainly didn’t bring out the best in us 🤣, but we did it! And we’ll definitely be glad we did 🙌🏻

Onto the next steps 👉🏻 Buttresses, pressure plates (I’m still nervous 😅), rails, walls… and eventually WATER!! 💃🏻🌊

The goal is to be swimming by Labor Day! Think we can do it?

Sod removal ✅

Only a minor hiccup this time, so we’re calling this one a win! 😂🙌🏻

Plus we saved on dumpster fees thanks to a truly wonderful neighbor, who now is and forever will be known as Compost Dave 😂

One giant patch of dirt later and we are officially ready to start leveling… which, based on everything people have warned me about, should go perfectly fine and cause absolutely zero problems 😅

Nevertheless, one step closer to our pool dreams! 💃🏻🙌🏻🌊

This process has had a STEEP learning curve, but I guess now we know for next time 🙈💀

… please cross your fingers for us that these plot twists end before our pool fund does 🤣😅
