OPINION: The 1.5 multiplier isn’t going to work like most people think it will. First off, when it comes to basketball, baseball, softball, and football…practically no private schools make the championship games outside of a few. PCS and St. Stanislaus this year. St. Stanislaus already had a 2X multiplier and that isn’t changing. They competed in 3A and will continue to if their numbers stay the same. Had PCS gone up one level they would have probably won 4A, they maybe would have won every class.

Also, this just changes the anger. Instead of 3A parents upset it will be 4A. Instead of Class 1 soccer parents being upset it will be a new class. Just assuming that a smaller class is worse than a bigger class is wrong. Most of the time this can be true, but occasionally the smaller class is better than the bigger class.

The MHSAA listened to you guys and made a change. They heard y’all. I just don’t think you are going to get the result you begged for.

The response of send the private schools back to the MAIS is lame.

Stats of private schools competing in championship games this year.

Football - 0 of 14
Basketball (B and G) 1 of 28
Softball 0 of 14
Baseball 1 of 14

Soccer has the most.
