WKING News Graduation SPOTLIGHT FEATURE
BRIANNA LEGGETT is graduating from East Feliciana High School in Jackson, Louisiana. Commencement Exercises will be held on May 14, 2026 at 6:00 PM at East Feliciana High School.
BRIANNA is the daughter of Samantha Leggett and Brian Williams. She is the sibling to Donovan Leggett and Zaiden Mitchell
It is with great pride and admiration that we announce Brianna's exceptional achievements throughout her high school career. As a dedicated student, Brianna has consistently excelled academically, earning a spot on the Principal's List each semester and being recognized as "Student of the Month" annually. Not only has she demonstrated academic prowess, but Brianna has also made a significant impact in extracurricular activities.
Brianna's passion for STEM education shines through her role as the EFHS Afterschool STEM Ambassador and Louisiana Representative for the United States STEM Next Flight Crew. These positions have allowed her to showcase the importance of out-of-school learning and inspire curiosity in STEM fields. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, as she has been given the opportunity to speak on major platforms and has been acknowledged by state officials for her contributions.
In addition to her STEM advocacy, Brianna has received several notable honors, including Human Calculator, EFHS Senior Class President, and Co-Captain of the Varsity Cheer Team. Her commitment to academic excellence, positive citizenship, and leadership qualities have set her apart as a role model within the school community.
Most recently, Brianna has been selected as one of the prestigious 2026 recipients of The Gates Scholarship, the highest honor bestowed upon seniors in the country. This recognition is a testament to her unwavering dedication and outstanding achievements.
Furthermore, Brianna actively participates in clubs such as Yearbook, BETA, and SADD, further showcasing her commitment to personal growth and community involvement.
Brianna's next stop is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She will pursue a degree in Computer Science with a concentration of Software Engineering.
When asked what was the best part of high school experience, BRIANNA replied, "The best part of my high school experience was building connections with people who I now view as my family, undergoing life together and continuously learning as I grow."
