THE COLOR OF THE STRETCH CEILING

Traditionally, ceilings in homes are made white. But the stretch canvas is available in a variety of colors. This makes it possible to create an original interior, as well as to correct the deficiencies of the room.

There are many shades of the product, but their number depends on the specific texture:

The richest color palette is presented in glossy ceilings, here really appears room for imagination (more than 150 shades). The range includes blue, green, yellow, red, brown, gray and purple. Different tones are represented: warm and cold, light and dark, there is black and white.

WHICH CHANDELIER IS BEST FOR MY INTERIOR?

When choosing a chandelier for a stretch ceiling, you need to proceed from the configuration, the overall interior and the design of the room:
- For a square room is enough one central chandelier, which will be the main lighting.
- In very large rooms, it is better to supplement the central lighting with spotlights in the corners or desired areas.
- For an elongated room, it is better to provide two identical models. This way the whole area will be illuminated, there will be no dark corners.

The number of lamps in the chandelier depends on the size of the room and the power of the lamps. Chandeliers with wooden lampshades are probably not the right option for stretch ceilings, because the cloth implies lightness and airiness, and the wood can visually burden the entire design.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN CHOOSING A CHANDELIER FOR A STRETCH CEILING

Chandelier - one possible option for lighting the room, the installation of which on the stretch ceiling has several nuances.

First of all, when choosing a ceiling chandelier and the type of bulbs, it is worth taking into account that the stretch ceiling from the constant exposure to elevated temperature can melt.

Therefore, it is better not to choose incandescent light bulbs over 60W and halogen light bulbs over 35-40W. Energy saving lamps and LED lamps have practically no heat emission and there are no restrictions for them.

The minimum distance from the suspended ceiling to the lamps should not be less than 0.33-0.5 FT (10 - 15cm), for halogen or incandescent lamps, especially the maximum power, it is better to increase it to 0.8 -1 FT (25-30cm).
For the same reason, suspended chandeliers are considered more suitable, because the distance from the ceiling to the bulb increases significantly.

It is desirable to choose a model with plafonds. The variant with them pointing down or to the sides will be suitable - so the light and heat are evenly dispersed. If the horns look up, the distance to the film should be maximum.

The body of the chandelier should not be heated, especially at the point of connection to the ceiling, so a metal base is unlikely to be suitable.

As for the nuances of installation, you need to understand that nothing is attached to the cloth itself, because the film is not strong enough for this. Lighting devices (as well as cornices, fire detectors, etc.) are fixed to the floor slab through hooks or embedded. And after the installation of the stretch ceiling, holes are made in it, through which the lighting fixtures are installed.

The location of the chandelier must be thought out in advance. When installing, you need to know the type of mounting the chandelier and the exact dimensions, so it is assembled before installing the ceiling.

STRETCH CEILINGS IN LARGE ROOMS

Basically, all films are available in sizes no larger than 16.4 feet wide. With a larger size will inevitably occur though insignificant but still sag.

THE CEILING AS THE MAIN SOURCE OF LIGHT

One of the most spectacular interior tricks is a fully luminous stretch ceiling. It looks weightless, as if floating in the air, visually expanding the space.

To create such an effect, a translucent canvas (translucid) is used. It is a kind of vinyl covering that is slightly thinner than usual films and lets in up to 50% of light. It is available in light colors and used to organize lighting.

Behind the translucidal canvas set the source of light - LED-lights attached to the base of the overlay, they are located along the perimeter, in the center, or make complex patterns.

STRETCH CEILING IN LOW ROOMS

Rooms with low ceilings impose certain restrictions on the choice of finishing materials. You need to choose the décor in such a way as to visually make the room appear larger and higher.

We've gathered for you some practical solutions to help you cope with this problem:

- Use stretch ceilings with a glossy texture, due to the mirror reflection the height of the room "doubles". It creates the feeling that the room is higher than it really is. Moreover, the richer is the color of the material, the more reflective its characteristics become.

- Reject the voluminous central chandelier, giving preference to built-in lighting fixtures, LED lighting around the perimeter of the suspended ceiling (floating ceiling) or translucent fabric (translucid) which, when the light turns on, begins to shine like a large lamp (uniformly glowing ceiling). STRETCH CEILING AND CEILING VENTILATION

In Florida, most rooms have ceiling ventilation. Many people think this might be a hindrance to installing a stretch ceiling. However, it is not.

If the ventilation hood or shaft is in the ceiling space of the room and the suspended structure of the planned stretch ceiling naturally closes them, it is necessary to install the hood through the fabric of the stretch ceiling with special structures.
