Hi everyone! My name is Popeye, and I am a female double yellow headed Amazon. I am 36 years old. I was surrendered to Florida Parrot Rescue to help find me a wonderful home where I will be given lots of love and attention.

I am blind but that doesn't hinder me one bit! I love to talk, and I love to be around talkative people or birds and join in the conversation! My favorite words to say are "hi, hello, pretty bird, Popeye, are you ok, you're ok, tickle tickle tickle" and then I will laugh and combine the words. I am on 3 liquid medications that are poured in my water. I am a gentle girl but if I feel ignored, I will scream a bit. I would love for my adoptive home to include me in all the happenings and shower me with attention!

Although my previous owner said I step up, I have not stepped up for my foster mom unless I am on the floor. My foster mom is working on touch training to earn my trust. I have only been with my current foster a little over a month so it will take some time to earn my trust.

I am on a healthy pellet diet, and my favorite treat is shelled almonds.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!

Dear extended family (Griffi's Tribe),

As we sit here on Christmas eve reflecting on the last year.... I'm gonna have to say that I can't wait for this year to be over and start fresh in 2026. It's been a lot of ups and down here, between surgery, being in and out of the hospital with some lung thing I now have going on, and just the struggle in general.

I missed out on doing Griffi's memorial fundraiser because of the surgery and I have been a horrible horrible person for not thanking everyone for sending all the toys to help us out while I was out of work for a bit.

My goal this year is to do the fundraiser bigger and better and I have something very special that I made that I plan on auctioning to help raise funds for various parrot rescues.

Thank you to each and every one who has been with us over the years and for those that are new.

We hope everyone is safe and warm this holiday season. And now.... I gotta go dig out some Christmas videos out of Griffi's vault!

I've been a bit absent lately. Between the surgery and recovery issues it's been a lot. 😆 🤣 obviously I survived Caleb's cooking. And now.... because you know my life is never without drama... I am being furlough from the government. YEAH I'M PUTTING THIS IN ALL CAPS FOR THOSE IN THE BACK THAT CAN'T HEAR.... I really don't care about politics so please for the love of God dont make political party comments. Just keep it to your self. I'm only saying this so you guys know why we haven't been posting anything.

Just so you guys know.... when I get messages from people telling me I should "tell griffi" to do something or dance to something..... she chose her music....she chose her moves. You CAN'T tell a parrot to "DO" anything. If you believe that you don't need a bird. Parrots do things because they like it or like you.

It's taken 2 years of building trust with this velocoraptor! But here she is on my shoulder. It takes a lot of trust and work for me personally to trust a parrot that close to my face. When she started "macaw mouthing" me I knew it was time to try.

Good news is Joey is willing to accommodate us on the dates we will need to keep the bi-monthly residency at The Southern Grill going through 2026. I was wondering if it was worth it with our move to Michigan, and the band shifting towards touring, but they are willing to line it up with our Georgia residency. Now we can continue to make the rock n rolls for y'all at a local capacity into the future. The Southern Grill is a special show for us because its really one of the few events our kids and families can come to.
