An inner child wound is what forms when, as children, we absorbed the message, often indirectly that our needs, feelings, or expressions of self weren’t safe or welcome. Not because anyone meant harm, but because of the cues we picked up from the world around us.

To cope, we learned to shut down parts of ourselves and focus instead on what others thought of us.

Those survival strategies may have protected us then, but in intimacy they become barriers.

So now, we may struggle to voice our needs, feel rejected too easily, withdraw when conflict arises, or lose ourselves in trying to please.

Beneath it all is the same wound: the fear that being our authentic self will cost us love or safety.

This is why inner work matters.

Growth means turning toward those hidden parts with compassion, reminding them they are welcome now.

When we do, we stop performing for connection and start showing up authentically. Read that again “performing for connection”

And in that authenticity, intimacy transforms, from a place of fear into a space of freedom, safety, and deeper love.

You deserve it all.

How A Man Cries

Sensers!

Yes, we’re going to talk about s*x to start the show. Remembering a time when you were trying to figure it all out as a young man or young woman or for some of the advanced ones, young boy or young girl. There was a lot of scheming on each other as rebellious teenagers, but did we really know what we were doing that early in life? It took sometime, but some of us eventually learned “the moves” Richie talked about in “The Last Dragon” to his brother Bruce Leroy Green. We got so much to discuss on this one!

The old saying goes “it’s a shame to see a grown man cry”…but, let’s be realistic, there’s a time and place for everything. Yes, we as men are to appear/be durable, diligent, dare we say stoic at times, but speaking for myself, there have been moments where I’ve shed tears be it for joy or for pain. I love sunshine and rain (IYKYK). So I wanted to talk about a few of the times where me as a man has admittedly cried and maybe my fellow men can relate to it.

Love conquers all…right? Perhaps, maybe, but what about the small fine print that comes with the act of love in our day to day? I don’t believe that love is enough, I believe in its healing power and its impact, but I certainly don’t believe it’s enough on its own. So what else must be considered into the equation when it comes to love? We’re not just talking about Romanticism here, but with the people we engage with on a daily.
