Horror fans and neighborhood skeptics alike are bracing for impact after producers announced Freddy Krueger’s next cinematic nightmare: an all-new reboot set entirely in the hood.

According to leaked press materials, the film—tentatively titled “A Nightmare on MLK Blvd”—will feature Freddy trading his usual suburban boiler rooms for abandoned corner stores, half-finished trap houses, and the back of a check-cashing place that everyone agrees is “probably haunted anyway.”

Studio insiders say the plot follows a group of friends who discover Freddy’s glove inside a storage unit auction. Once unlocked, he starts appearing in dreams—and on Ring doorbell cameras.

Early screenings have reportedly left audiences both terrified and offended by how many jokes Freddy makes about unpaid car notes.

One anonymous production assistant said:

“It’s the same Freddy—just more disrespectful and with a fresh fade.”

Tickets go on sale July of 2028.
