Just off a cruise to Alaska on the Splendor. First time we ever had a scenic ocean view cabin. We were very impressed, this cabin was perfect for viewing all the breathtaking Alaskan scenery while staying warm inside. Most of the time the temps were in the 30's and 40's so too cold to really enjoy a balcony cabin. This is cabin 9197 on the Carnival Splendor Lido deck. It is looking forward and right below the bridge. you basically have the same view the captain does as to where the ship is headed. For us it was a $100 ($50 per person) upgrade over a regular ocean view cabin. The $100 was for the entire 8 day cruise, not per day. Best $100 we ever spent.

This is for informational purposes. We are in the Legend right now. This is cabin 4116. We knew the view we were getting when we booked. This room was the same price as the interior room across the hall. We have enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows. I will tell you in the evening you can hear the band below until about midnight. It’s not very loud. But if you are a very light sleeper this area of the ship is not for you. We are not heavy sleepers and it was fine.

Clipping a fan onto the air conditioner vent is the best way yet, to keep our stateroom very cool!
