Growing up my grandparents canned all summer like their life depended on it, because just a few decades back it had. It’s interesting how much has changed in just a few generations- now we mostly preserve food for fun and flavor, but it’s good to keep the old traditions going. 😋 🍇

Today’s project was one i’ve been putting off for a while. 🤣 A coat of poly on the master bedroom exterior wood wall and curtains hung. The room felt cooler right away !

You might remember the chimney we had to pull down because it had become unsafe - the original bricks are now getting a new life as our sidewalk and steps ! 🧱

We have been trying to find a custom mattress for our “new” antique bed but haven‘t had any luck. If you have any places to recommend please share! The 75 year old mattress that came with it isn’t cutting it. 🤣 Sincerely, MamaNeedsSomeSleep 😴

Thank you to Peachtree Battle Estate Sales & Liquidations for the wonderful experience. We were able to bring home this early 19th century 4-post bed w/ matching trundle bed.

This officially makes every piece of furniture, in our master bedroom mid-19th century.

Except for the 75 year old mattress that came with the bed, but we will quickly be updating that once we find someone that can customize a new mattress.

Thursday Jesse picked up a few things from the estate sale of Florence Corley in Marietta GA, including several books.
He returned today to pick up the large items, including this beautiful barrister bookcase.
It felt so neat putting her books back inside of it- reunited! 📚
