Going to see big boys 4014 and 4012 side-by-side Saturday in Scranton. Doing a wing it day trip. Yes I have reservations.  I am aware that there is a railroad called Delaware Lackawana and western there. Do they keep their engines around the roundhouse or do they keep them at the Vin Storch engine house ?  last time I was there in 2016 they were at the yard outside the museum, but that wasn’t any sort of special event when I came through.

CSX Mountain Sub overtop and the C&BL, sorry i mean WMSR below. Great timing on this one. The rain really helps with the environmental aura.

The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad recently acquired Conemaugh and Black Lick 111 last minute in 2025 before it would’ve gotten scrapped with the other C&BL lockmotives last year. Its safety was acquired by McHugh Locomotive, the Kovalchick Family, CSX and of course the WMSR where it has a new home.

She runs regularly as there are switching duties in Ridgeley Yard as well as Cumberland Station from time to time. She cant tackle the mountains alone, but can make appearances to the beginning of the narrows without assistance from the other engines.

These photos were taken during in the middle of the Fireball Photoshoot where Western Maryland Scenic staged run-byes for Johnstown Pennsylvania esq photos of 111. This scene looks more like Johnstown than Johnstown currently does. This is supposed to be 111’s last appearance in Bethlehem Steel black & yellow paint.

Rumors are circulating that its getting a historically inspired Semiquincentennial paint job.

I look foreward to painting a model train of it. I already have made decals for C&BL 76, the bicentennial unit the old company did. I bet it is going to be similar in appearance. My logos/decals are about to be found on my hobby website near the bottom of the page at:
