Check out The Salisbury Woods: Haunted Barn and Trail, a spooktacular fundraiser for local education, arts and community organizations. Proceeds from the Haunt go to Salisbury Elementary School PTG, Loudon Elementary School PTA, Twin Rivers Food Pantry and the Franklin Animal Shelter to just name a few. If you’ve been to Salisbury Woods before, come on back to see what is new for this year. They open October 3rd and remain open every Friday and Saturday for the month of October. For those faint of heart, there is a Daytime Sneak Peak Saturday October 25th from 12p-2p.

Effective Monday, September 22, 2025, the Governor has issued a proclamation prohibiting all open fires and smoking in and near woodlands across New Hampshire.
This order has been issued due to severe drought conditions and the high risk of wildfires.
This means all fire permits are cancelled until further notice, any violators face fines of up to $2,000, absolutely no open fires (campfires, debris burning, etc.) anywhere in the state, no smoking (pipes, ci**rs, ci******es) in or near woodlands or on public trails, and the only exceptions: liquid-fueled gas grills/stoves, and campfires in inspected campgrounds with a seasonal fire permit.
The online fire permit system has also been shut down until conditions improve.
