⭐ Public Request for Readers – “The Spirits of Christmas” at Captain’s Castle ⭐

Jefferson friends, I’m looking for a few wonderful volunteers to help bring a brand-new holiday tradition to life at Captain’s Castle Historic Inn this season… The Spirits of Christmas. ✨🎄

On select evenings after the Candlelight Tour of Homes, we’ll gather by firelight for an intimate Victorian-style Christmas storytelling experience — a blend of ghost stories, sentimental tales, and the kind of old-world Christmas magic Jefferson does best.

📅 Event Dates:
Saturday, November 29
Thursday–Saturday, December 4–6
Thursday–Saturday, December 11–13

I am seeking volunteer readers who would enjoy:

📖 Reading traditional Victorian Christmas “ghost” stories (I have several chosen, but you’re welcome to bring a family favorite!)
👗 Wearing period-style costumes (nothing fancy — just something festive or vaguely Victorian)
🎄 Participating on whichever nights you’re available — one, two, or all
🕯️ Storytimes begin at 9:00 PM (after Candlelight Tour)
🍷 Mulled wine, cider, homemade cookies, and refreshments provided
🏰 Small groups (15–20 guests) for a cozy, candlelit atmosphere

No acting experience needed — just a warm voice, a friendly spirit, and a love of Christmas.

Heavy rainfall across portions of the Ark-La-Tex, beginning as early as Wednesday, then continuing into Thursday, remains in the forecast. Rainfall totals through the end of the week could range between 1-2" in the outlook area, with the chance for locally higher amounts.
