It was coop cleaning day (uh-gain). I hate dirty coops soooo muchβ€”they legit bug me. So while I hate doing this I also cannooooot not do it. πŸ˜«πŸ˜‚

As always, I added First Saturday Lime to everythingggg, herbs I saved from our garden, and then the pine shavings we scored at Tractor Supply earlier (see previous post lol).

We are supposed to get snow tomorrow, so I finished winterizing the hen houses just in time. πŸ˜…

Clean and warm home = happy chickens during winter. β„οΈπŸ“

Here, we do the β€œdeep litter” method and we do not use heat lamps. So as we go, instead of raking everything out, I will just add fresh shavings, FSL, and herbs. Once spring hits, I will do a massive deep cleaning and get it ready for warmer temps.

🐐 Hubby also pressure-washed the goat water trough and added the water heater to it (to keep it from freezing). We also cleaned out their house and platform to keep everything poop-free but we do this every 2ish days.

Productive day for us!
