Important Post:

I hope this message finds you well, and I wanted to invite you to an important event tomorrow at 10 am in the PathSide Building in Journal Square that will have a meaningful impact on Journal Square, Jersey City, and across the country.

Many of you remember that a couple of years ago, I articulated a bigger plan and vision to returning Journal Square to its grandeur as the heartbeat of the city that it once was decades ago. For me, it was more than zoning or even transportation access at JSQ. It was about leveraging our city’s assets with diversity, youth, creativity, and venues. At the time, I thought we should dream big because our city has limitless potential, and I was vocal about that.

At the time, I articulated a plan where if we could find a partner for the 3,000 seat Historic Loew’s Theatre to return it as the premier venue it was in 1929, if we can better capitalize on the huge asset that is India Square, and if we could acquire the Pathside building and find a significant partner for a cultural/museum type facility - then the pieces would fall into place in the heart of the city.

We did many community meetings to get feedback. I listened closely and did my best to execute.

It’s been a tough year for all of us, but we have moved forward on all fronts with Journal Square. We found a partner to do a $72m renovation of the Loew’s. We are working on some plans for India Square, And tomorrow, we have a press conference early in the morning with the Governor to discuss the plans for the Pathside Building, followed by a walkthrough at 10 am, which you are welcome to join at the building.

It’s an exciting time. I’m really proud of the work we have been able to do, and tomorrow will be a huge step forward.

Please feel free to share this message with your respective email groups and I’m looking forward to discussing next steps with you tomorrow
