The shooting at the ๐๐ฌ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐จ is exactly why people keep warning about ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐๐ก๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ.
When political leaders, media figures, and online movements spend months escalating ๐๐๐๐ซ, ๐ก๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐, and ๐๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ก๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ against an entire religious or ethnic community, eventually someone unstable hears that message as a ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.
The anti-Muslim rhetoric coming from parts of this administration, Republican representatives, and MAGA circles has intensified dramatically over the past several months. Constantly portraying ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฌ and ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ as threats, invaders, terrorists, or enemies of America has ๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ-๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฌ.
This is what happens when people are fed ๐๐๐๐ซ and ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ nonstop. ๐๐จ๐ซ๐๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ. Repetition matters. ๐๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ. And pretending this rhetoric exists in a vacuum after violence happens is ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ญ.
