I took a short trip to Oregon last week and brought this book, a couple of requested manuscripts, and a new contract for one of my authors as my travel companions. I took my two teens too, but they are introverts so my presence (rather than conversation) was sufficient for them. ;)

I’m annotating BEFORE AND AFTER THE BOOK DEAL to mark discussion topics and gems of wisdom in advance of a Zoom meetup I have scheduled with my authors. I can officially say I recommend it for newer authors and that it’s a great buddy read! I really appreciate how many voices Courtney Maum incorporated into her exhaustive look at the publishing process and author career!

If you've heard Meg Hunter-Kilmer speak, read her engaging saint biographies, or used her Bible journal, then I don't have to tell you how inspiring she is. Her enthusiasm for theological truth and her love for all peoples are evident to everyone she encounters! But she'll be the first to tell you that she hasn't worked so hard at growing in knowledge, ability, and integrity so that we can heap praises and attention on HER! Meg's superpower, that I so admire, is gathering our focus and then pointing it Heavenward.

It's been a privilege to walk alongside Meg to help bring her newest book to all of you. True to form, Meg has poured her vast expertise into this book in a way that makes it accessible to everyone - and does just what the title promises: fixes our eyes on Jesus.

I got lots of reading and a bit of hiking in this weekend! The school year is winding down and I’ve been making good progress on my infinitely long to do list.

On a professional note - if you submitted a query or manuscript to me before 12/13/24, you should have heard from me. Reach out if you haven’t. I have about 100 more emails to reply to from the months after that.

On a personal note - it’s garden season! We can’t plant yet here in SE Alaska, but I’m busily preparing beds and repairing infrastructure. One of my kiddos has agreed to be my gardening partner/helper (for money) this summer, so it’s going to be a great year!
