Growing up, my dad always taught us that every man should have vision for his life. For as long as I can remember, I’ve written my New Year’s goals in my notes app. As the year goes on, I usually end up checking off about half of them 😂 I’ve always told myself that checking off some is better than none.

This year I wanted to do something different.

Instead of keeping my goals private, I decided to post them publicly. Not for attention but for accountability. Putting them out there forces me to be more intentional, more honest, and more committed.

As I’ve gotten older and started a family, I’ve cared less and less about posting the perfect triathlon photo and more about sharing who I actually am. Triathlon will always be one of my passions, and I’ll continue to post about it but I also want to share more of my life, my values, and what I’m building behind the scenes.

That starts with sharing my goals for 2026.

Some of these will be really hard. Some of them are simply what I believe should come with being a good husband and father. My hope is that at the end of this year, I can look back and say I followed through on most if not all of them 🔥

Here’s to an incredible year ahead!

Also I’ve been off Instagram for the past month as part of one of these goals (desktop only). It’s been eye-opening how much time I was losing to scrolling and getting brain rot and how much more present I’ve been with my family because of it.

Today marks two months since the IRONMAN World Championship… and I still get chills thinking about this moment.

There’s nothing in sport quite like these drums.
That sound. That echo. That feeling in your chest.
It’s one of the most powerful few moments in all of triathlon.

This year at Kona, getting clean audio of this moment was a priority.
We posted on the pier and I sat beside the drummers because we wanted to capture it exactly as the athletes feel it raw, intense, and impossible to forget.

These drums make your heart sink and settle at the same time.
It’s nerves.
It’s calm.
It’s anticipation.
It’s everything an athlete dreams of hearing on the start line in Kona.

I’d love to hear from the pros:
What goes through your mind in those final silent seconds… right after the drums stop, and just before the cannon fires?

Fans of the sport including us never get to experience that moment the way you do.

Would love to hear your thoughts below!

Since I was a kid, I’ve loved this race… probably in the same way Taylor does. Kona has always meant something to me. It’s the race that made me fall in love with this sport, and it’s the race that made me want to pick up a camera in the first place.

Every time I make a video, my hope is simple: I want someone to smile, or laugh, or cry, or feel something. I want people to see the heart inside this sport. And this episode… this one pulled all of that out of me.

I was standing in the bleachers that day, waiting to film Taylor’s finish, and in one instant everything changed. Your stomach drops, your brain shifts, and suddenly you’re trying to figure out how to honor an athlete in a moment that didn’t go the way anyone dreamed it would. You feel their heartbreak, and you carry some of it with you as a storyteller.

I’ve sat with this episode for a long time. I wrote this massive brief to Sam, our editor, trying to put into words what I hoped the story would feel like. And when the first cut finally came through this week… at the closing segment tears started rolling. It reminded me exactly why I love this sport, and why I love doing what I do.

I get to tell the stories of this crazy, beautiful thing we call triathlon. I get to capture IRONMAN in all its glory and all its heartbreak. And I get to share it with you.

Episode 10 — TRIATHLON — is now live.

Every freaking thing now is an annoying-as-crap subscription. 🤣🤣
My phone was basically turning into a brick from hitting my iCloud limit, so I finally caved and went digging through my storage… instead of doing what Apple wants you to do and buy a new phone! 🤣

Apparently I’ve never deleted a text in my entire life, because I ended up deleting over 250,000 messages today. Most of them were from family group chats and the triathlon gossip in ProTriNews. Before that, I had almost 700GB just in text messages. Who even has that!?

And my photos?
Yeah… almost 900GB. And at least 75% of them are triathlon-related and that doesn’t even include the ones I don’t upload to my phone. 😂

So after my phone nearly dying from storage overload, I finally cleaned house.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who hoards messages and photos like this. 😅

Curse you Apple! I will not fall into the trap of paying $30 a month for 6tb! 🤣

Hey everyone! I wanted to share something I’m really proud of.

Most of you know me for filming, editing, and documenting athletes but something you don’t always see is the part that happens before the camera ever comes out. When I’m working on episodes for the TRIATHLON series, I usually do a long phone call with the athlete usualy around 45 minutes to really understand how they felt during a race. Not just what happened, but what was going through their mind, their heart, and what stayed with them afterward.

I had one of those calls with while we were working on her episode. And there was so much depth in what she shared that it didn’t all fit into a 12-minute edit or a short Instagram reel. So I tried something new. I took that conversation and shaped it into an article piece for The Feed Insider.

This isn’t a plug.. just something I genuinely enjoyed doing, and a different way of telling a story I really care about. I’m super happy with how it turned out, and it felt meaningful to share her thoughts this way.

If you want to read it, the link is in my story.
Let me know what you think 🤷🏼‍♂️ maybe I’ll do more of these. I have never been much of a reader myself but I enjoyed doing this.

As the end of the year creeps up, it’s always the busiest stretch for me. September and October are where I make around 30%-40% of my entire yearly income the grind of being a freelancer. It’s fun, it’s wild, but it comes at a cost.

It’s crazy how much things have changed in my life. In the past, if anyone bought me a plane ticket, I would be the first person to say yes and go. But now hings like being next to my beautiful wife and my little monster, Noa 💖. When I’m traveling, it gets harder and harder to be away from them. Luckily, most of the time they get to come with me but not this trip.

Here are some snippets from this last long stretch: Tucson with Lionel, then Kona, and finally Vegas for the FAA convention. It was a blur, but full of memories.

A lot of people say, “I wish my job let me travel like that.” And don’t get me wrong I love what I do, and it truly is a dream. But sometimes, my vacation and my getaway from work is simply being home. Because at the end of the day, home is where the heart is.

Here’s a few moments from one incredible month and one unforgettable trip.

This past month has changed my perspective on a lot of things.

I’ve cared more about how my Instagram feed looks than about my faith.
I’ve cared more about what people think of me than what Jesus thinks of me.
I’ve cared more about keeping clients than trusting that God will provide.

That’s hard to admit, but it’s the truth.

When I started posting triathlon content I had about 200 followers. Somewhere along the way, I started worrying more about being liked than being honest. I stopped talking about my faith because I didn’t want to lose followers or make anyone uncomfortable. But lately, the lord has been working on my heart. I have been reminded our life here on earth is temporary.

I know I’ll lose a lot of followers from this. I already lost thousands from my last post. I’ll probably lose clients. Maybe even friends. But one day I’ll stand before Jesus, and I want to know I spoke my truth more than I curated my Instagram feed.

Triathlon has been a huge part of my life and it still will be. But this page is going to be more than just triathlon content. I want to share my life, my family, and my faith not as someone who has it all figured out because I don’t, but as someone trying to get it right.

I have friends from all different religions and political views. I don’t judge them or unfollow them because they see things differently. That’s what’s wrong with the world right now we stop talking when we disagree. We need to come back together, have real conversations again, and learn to love each other even when we don’t see eye to eye.

I hope this post inspires someone out there in this sport or beyond to stop caring what people think. To stand up. To be bold in your faith.

To live is Christ. To die is gain.

Lord, USE ME. SEND ME. To advance your Kingdom

This is more than sport.

New Triathlon Episode Live

I’ve always thought moms were incredible but I’ll admit, before .cox and I had Noa, I didn’t fully understand it. In triathlon, I’d see the “mom racing” storyline and think, that’s cool, but it didn’t sink in.

Now, as a dad, I see it differently. When I take Noa out, I can always tell who the parents are because they look at her and smile. And in that smile, you can almost see them remembering their own child at that stage of life. It’s a little reminder of how much parents carry.

That’s why story matters so much. She became a mom, rolled her Kona slot from 2023, and now her very first race back will be the Ironman World Championship. To balance motherhood and race at that level? It’s hard to even wrap your head around.

This episode is one of my favorites we’ve done. If you’re a parent, you’ll feel it. And even if you’re not go watch. It’ll give you a whole new perspective.
