At Signal Theory, we’re committed to helping change the face of our industry – literally. We’re working with The BrandLab to offer our Resonance Scholarship program for 2022. Recipients will receive financial support to further their education, as well as a guaranteed paid summer internship right here at Signal Theory. Jim Vranicar, Chief Operating Officer, had a record-breaking sabbatical. He was able to meditate for 26 consecutive days — his personal best. Guinness World Records, eat your heart out!

For Jim, sabbatical was a time to recharge physically, mentally and spiritually. In addition to meditation, he started riding his bike after a 20-year hiatus, attended yoga classes, read a bit and committed to losing some weight.

Oh, and did we mention he and his wife traveled to our neighbors up north? Yep, Jim was able to enjoy seven days in Canada visiting Montreal and Quebec City.

It’s safe to say Jim’s time off was one for the record books.

SONIC is an iconic summer hangout. But in summer 2020, COVID-19 forced guests to stay home for summer. Getting together at the Drive-In got put on hold. So instead, we met our fans where they were: at home on their phones.

With 5 AR filters featuring fun games, friendly SONIC characters and even a pair of neon-ified cherry glasses, we gave thousands of SONIC fans a joyful, engaging moment to help get them through a long, lonely summer – no visit to the Drive-In required.

Cheryl Tulipana, Senior Media and Data Insights Director, loves a good travel itinerary. She also loves immersing herself in a foreign land. She did neither for her sabbatical.

Instead of a grandiose experience in another country, she decided to play it safe with a classic, all-American road trip through the South. She also decided to ditch that planning spirit and just go with the flow.

Cheryl and her husband, Steve, went toward whatever caught their eye – including the Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco, TX. Her biggest takeaway? There are cool experiences waiting for us everywhere – even close to home. Oh, and that she knows way too much about Dr. Pepper now.

Brent Davidson, creative director, didn’t have time to write a novel during his sabbatical, but he did take time to write a fun chapter full of making family memories. That meant getting to dive in to all those usually save-it-for-the-weekend activities every day for a whole month – landscaping, family trips to art museums, visiting the grandparents and taking his daughter tubing for the first time, just to name a few.

At the end of it all, Brent was thankful to simply check out of work and be present in some wonderful dad moments.

Signal Theory took home four national awards at the Best of NAMA ceremony, which honors the best work in agricultural communications across the country.
