18th & Vine has such a unique identity that I'd coin it "Eastport" —a name that reflects both its historic roots and its potential as a gateway for culture, music, business, and community on the east side.

The orange invasion is coming. 🧡

As Kansas City gears up for the world’s biggest soccer tournament, one of the sport’s most beloved fan traditions is rolling into town: the Netherlands’ iconic Orange Bus.

The rehabbed London double-decker has led Dutch supporters to matches around the globe since 2004, drawing thousands of singing, cheering, orange-clad fans in its wake. Now, it’s headed to KC ahead of the Netherlands vs. Tunisia match on June 25.

One of Kansas City’s most respected barbecue spots is preparing to close its doors.

Harp Barbecue announced this week that its final day of service will be Saturday, May 30, after nearly a decade in business. Owner Tyler Harp says rising meat costs, shrinking margins and employee retention challenges led to the difficult decision.

What started as a pop-up at Crane Brewing in Raytown quickly became a metro favorite, known for its Texas-style brisket, house-made sausage and dedication to craft barbecue. Along the way, Harp earned both local acclaim and a fiercely loyal following.

Now, the community is stepping up to support what comes next for Harp, including a GoFundMe campaign aimed at helping him explore future barbecue concepts and partnerships.

From KC to the national stage. 🌮✨

Kansas City-based Tiki Taco just landed at No. 72 on Fast Casual’s 2026 Top 100 Movers and Shakers list — joining major names like Chipotle and Dave’s Hot Chicken on one of the restaurant industry’s biggest annual rankings.

Not bad for a hometown taco chain with just five metro locations, with plans for new locations in Liberty, the Crossroads, south Overland Park, Lawrence and Metro North in 2026.

Independence is home to one of the Midwest’s largest Samoan populations. 🌴

That’s why, off Highway 291 and 23rd Street in the Tractor Supply parking lot, you can find Cameron Maluia tossing kalua pork, pineapple sausages and turkey tails into Styrofoam to-go boxes from his food truck throughout the week.
