The garden is officially taken down for the season! I’ve documented my whole process on YouTube & it’s live now! 📹

It’s a bittersweet video & has me reflecting on this last month in the garden. My season was cut a bit short due to my hospital stay & having Charly, but I wouldn’t change a thing!

In the last weeks of the garden we were able to harvest a ton of peppers, tomatoes, and our first ever butternut squash & pumpkins which are now stored for the fall! I can’t wait to make pumpkin pie, cookies, and other treats this fall with our homegrown pumpkins 🎃

We still have 1 bed of carrots to harvest in a few weeks so I guess the whole garden isn’t *technically* taken down… but close enough 😅

As challenging as this season was I know I’ll miss it! And the dogs will too! Lol they spent so much time with me out here this season running around & swimming in the lake while I did chores. I can’t wait for next season when I’ll have Charly girl with me too!

I won’t be planting garlic this year but I’m thinking about trying it next fall. If you grow garlic, what varieties do you like?

Some of my favorite moments from June! Between all the rain we’ve been getting & the heatwave the garden is finally exploding!

What I’m looking forward to the most in July:
- Peppers coming in
- Vining crops growing up & over the trellises
- First tomatoes maybe??
- Starting some fall crops even though I said I wouldn’t this year 😅
- zinnia blooms!!
